"I had breakfast in a classic diner setting, and the service was both quick and friendly. To start, we were treated to a complimentary doughnut and a slice of orange. The doughnut hole was delightful, and I couldn’t resist ordering more. I went for the chicken and waffles, which were fantastic. The waffle was outstanding, and while the chicken wings were just okay, they added a lovely salty flavor that complemented the waffle perfectly. The rest of my group loved their French toast, waffles, and pancakes. I highly recommend this place any day of the week!"

Wanted a taste of a proper old school American diner and got exactly that here. The food was excellent and the coffee was really good. I tried the 2 egg with chicken sausage and it was really good, portions are huge too. The staff were all really nice and it was a great way to start a Sunday

A wonderful classic diner in the heart of downtown! Also, a great place to start your journey down route 66! Even when the line is long, it downstairs take much time to get through it and get seated. They're impetus are huge. There coffee is great. And thestaff is the BEST! I WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK!

What a comfortable, super great place for breakfast or brunch. Service is excellent, eating amazing. The interior is full of Chicago live. The staff is excellent only customer support. Coffee fills no need to ask, or you need a fresh pressed orange juice. Yeah, that's your nice place that's a must. Enjoy

This is one of the oldest breakfast diners located in Chicago, it stands proud serve in the people of Chicago for 99 years. I found a service to be helpful the food was very nice although I wish I could’ve tried more things on the menu because it all looked delicious! The great thing about this diner is that it opens early at 6 am which means you can get in there and enjoy nearly breakfast before your day starts!

What terrific place to grab a bite in a historic route 66 dinner. After we were seated they brought homemade donut holes orange slices then took our order. I ordered the special, French Toast with strawberries, banana toasted coconut, so good. We also got the Texas hash eggs (note 4 eggs) potatoes with homemade cinnamon bread. Again yummy. They were slammed theservice was great if I lived here I would be a regular. View menu

Getting off the train from Union Station, we wanted to find a comfortable place to eat and relax, and this didn't disappoint! First off, the food is absolutely amazing. The french toast was perfect and fluffy with whip cream and fruit topped it perfectly. Extremely considerate staff who do their best to give you the best experience. While we were waiting for our food, they gave us doughnut holes which was just an extra cherry on top. This is definitely the best diner, highly recommend.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
