"Confused... Is this a Spanish/Portuguese Tapas OR Japanese Sushi place? Since they have no Sake or Sapporo beer or any Japanese beer available, I ordered a half pitcher of red sangria that was good, perhaps a little sweet (also available in white but blue/green? . I found the Tapas selections a bit limited. Blue/white Potato chips, Sweet potato fries, sake chorizo and 3 shrimp selections. Hmmm... So I ordered the fried dumplings which were delicious enjoyably very crispy. And the Sushi Tower, while not exactly a 'tower as in multi level presentation but a formed layered presentation ' it was delicious. Now I 'm craving some sake. Wait...if they have Sake Chorizo, why not Sake behind the bar? Curious is that they have eel sauce as a side sauce but no eel on the menu? So if I 'm craving sushi, I 'll be back to explore cuz there aren 't alot of Sushi places in the Ironbound. But please stock some Sake or Sapporo beer."

It's an awesome place for a cold beer! The wine selection can be a problem but the food is phenomenal or strictly out of the ordinary.

Good sushi. Decent atmosphere but really good service. There was a celebration upstairs that was a bit loud but other than that everything was good.

I enjoy visiting this establishment, but their food is overpriced in my opinion. For this reason, when I do choose this place to dine, I only go on Wednesdays. On Wednesdays they offer some of the sushi at a discounted price, but only in the upstairs area. It would be easier on the staff and more customer service oriented if they didn't just limit it to the upstairs area. I've never been there and all the seating be taken downstairs so it won't impact their bottom line. Most times there are only 2-3 tables dining upstairs, but the waiter is forced to go up and down the stairs for food and sometimes drinks. This causes longer wait times.

"On Wednesday 12/06 I went to Banzai Sushi, I have never received such bad service in my life… Every time I remember my experience, I get angry, the waitress is rude and has a horrible attitude! It's a shame because the food there is wonderful, but the service is so SO BAD that I lost my appetite. When I got there, there was some water spilled on the table, she took my stepfather's DIRTY NAPKIN to clean it and just left it there. When I asked for things she responded with an ignorant, rude tone. My partner doesn't eat any type of animal protein other than shrimp. So we asked if we could replace the salmon with shrimp in a poke, she checked in the kitchen and said everything was fine. When she came back, I placed my order and she was doing something at the other table, but said to continue because she was listening….my partner also talking about swapping salmon for shrimp at the end and the waitress replies “so it's not like that at all what you want, is something different” and simply left leaving us talking to the wall. When our order arrived, my order came out wrong. I called her and she simply replied “BUT ALSO, WITH HER MAKING ALL THIS MESS WITH SALMON AND SHRIMP…”, sorry, but for me that was the end of the bite. It's okay to get the order wrong, I know it happens, but blaming the customer? Every time she passed by our table I saw her making faces and looking at the kitchen. I thought it was a huge lack of respect, we are paying customers. On top of that, it also includes a 15% tip. Normally, if I receive good service, I will give 20%, after all, I work in customer service and value professionals in my field. And if the service was just bad, I wouldn't bother coming here to report it... But it was horrible"
