"Pass! I made a reservation for four, including two elderly clients. When we arrived, we had to seek out a hostess who was annoyed that we would bother her to announce our arrival. She informed us that the dining room was closed but offered us couches with a low table between us. Totally inappropriate for a business meeting. She then offered us high tops for which one of my clients could barely ascend. We waited for ten minutes for a server and then left to enjoy lunch across the street at the Kinzie Street Chop House. Marshall's Landing is a place to go and have drinks and bar food. My mistake to think it's a restaurant."

Good food, nice restaurant atmosphere....the waiter seemed anxious to turn the table over

Nice place and service. Beautiful view! Pasta Bolognese was so-so. Sauce not so flavorful and watery probably from wet pasta.

Great spot for lunch if you want to be waited on at The Mart., away from the typical fast casual food offered throughout building. Hip trendy great decor, Steak Salad- excellent! View menu

I have visited numerous restaurants owned by Michael Kornick on multiple occasions, so it was not unexpected that my visit to Marshall's Landing was also exceptional. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I ended up going back a second time that week.

I selected Marshall's Landing for a relaxed lunch during our one day leadership retreat. It was a nice, quiet place to sit and continue our discussion. Our waiter was really helpful with menu tips, the food was great and the view was excellent. We all enjoyed our lunch and would go back the next time we are in the Merchandise Mart.

I made a reservation two days before online and I physically went into the restaurant to ask if they would be open on the date and time I needed, they assured me they would be. I showed up with my party and the Restaurant was not open but I received a confirmation email. No one bothered to call or email me that the Restaurant would not be open. View menu

As we work in the building, my colleagues and I frequent Marshall's Landing often for happy hour and lunches. The food is consistently fantastic and the atmosphere is lively. However, the service at both the tables and the bar is usually lacking. It's a shame because we enjoy their food and drinks, but if the service doesn't improve, we may start looking for alternatives.

My co-workers and I recently visited Marshall's Landing for lunch and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely with views of the Chicago River, and the reservation process was easy to adjust. The service was decent, although the waiters could have been more attentive. The prices were a bit high, but understandable given the location in the Merchandise Mart. I would definitely recommend Marshall's Landing as a great spot for a business lunch if you are in or near the Merchandise Mart.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
