"We were seated in a booth that seemed to have a leak underneath. The floor was already wet when we arrived, but it got worse during our brunch. My two kids ended up wet; my daughter's shoes were soaked, and my son got his bottom wet from sitting in the booth. It looks like there's a slab leak, as water was seeping up from the floor. I mentioned this to our server, who confirmed that there is indeed a leak. They really shouldn't have seated anyone in that booth, especially given that it was Mother's Day and busy. Aside from that issue, the service was acceptable, and the food was very good."

Best corn chowder ever! I always order it whenever I visit. They also offer a petite portion menu for those looking to eat lighter.

I used to go to Mimi's (not this particular location) a lot as a kid so it was really nostalgic. I went for breakfast, which I never had here before. It was good, but the healthy options were lacking. View menu

Service was a little slow but that's probably because we came on a Sunday morning. The food was excellent however. I had the Diner style corn beef hash and eggs for the first time and it was delicious.

This place has the best bread pudding in San Diego! It's become my friend's favorite spot since he relocated from Indiana three months ago. You can't go wrong with any meal here, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

We had a wonderful breakfast on Saturday morning, with everything cooked just right and our waiter attentive to all our needs. I particularly loved the quiche Lorraine. My daughter ordered an omelet and asked for hot sauce, which our waiter quickly brought us. The muffins are enormous, and every bite is pure bliss. View menu

Just ok. Seems like the food quality has gone downhill in recent years. About 8 years ago, we ate at a new Mimi 's that was opened in Tampa at least twice a week. Food was great, fresh and huge portion sizes. Service was always good. At this location, service was subpar...very slow and the food, eh...lot 's to choose from on the menu, so is a good place for an ever-so-often meal out. Beats fast food, but not what I expect at a 'nice ' sit-down restaurant.

We waited 12 minutes for someone to take our order and bring us water. The food also did not come out at the same time; one person in our group had to wait an additional 5 minutes for theirs, which made things uncomfortable. An extra charge of $2.29 for two tiny slices of avocado on a Benedict is ridiculous. The server was friendly but slow. We had to ask for basic items like silverware, napkins, and salt and pepper. The salsa tasted more like chunky ketchup.

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
