"I absolutely love the vibe off this place! Dark with lots of character speaking to its long history, it’s like stepping back in time but even at 10:30pm is packed with diners having a good time. But at any restaurant it comes down to the food, and I’d come for two things — their famous black label burger and the bone marrow. Black label burger and the French onion soup are the way to go. Incredible cut of beef that almost makes the $38 price tag worth it.

On my first visit, I thought 40 was not worth it for a burger. Then I cam here for that burger again. Expensive but a nice burger you want to eat regularly. View menu

The service and vibe make this a great place. Food, too, even though I had the black label burger, which I didn’t think was anything particularly special for the price they charge.

Thrilled to be able to get a chance walk-in table for two. Good service, atmosphere is crowded noisy in a good way. That said, expected more due to the hype. The shaved Brussels sprouts salad was great, but the lobster and the burger in particular was just fine. And for $38 I expect more than a fine burger.

I had the pappardelle with with braised short rib and rosemary whipped ricotta and my fiance had the pappardelle with duck ragout. Both dishes were incredibly delicious and served at the perfect temperature. Service was impeccable as well. I was also living for the flake salt that was brought with the bread and butter. Sit at the bar, order a perfectly executed dry gin (or vodka martini and a burger. All is well in the world. Old school place. Sepia toned everything. Feels like you stepped back in time or are in a period movie. The food is exceptional (omg that burger! . The service is friendly and efficient. My go to place far a nice boozy lunch!

Terrible service, after waiting an hour for a star at the bar, the bartender gives the seats to someone else who arrived much later because there are two free seats next to each go other, food is good but not worth that E: oh the waiters and waitresses seemed absolutely lovely and spying a lot of attention, so as long as you have a reservation for a table you should be fine in terms of service
