"Mokbar is tucked away in a calm corner within the commotion of Chelsea Market. It is basically a Korean inspired ramen shop, which combines traditional broths with Japanese ramen noodles. Choi’s menu is based on home-style Korean recipes using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Every dish brought out from her kitchen really pack a punch. The menu at Mŏkbar consists of dishes like “Kimchi Ramen” which is bacon broth with braised pork and stewed kimchi. Each ramen bowl on the menu has a “story” which describes the origin of its traditional flavors. Esther Choi’s bowls and plates are just like her – feisty, innovative and full of zing.<br/ <br/ I think Mokbar is definitely worth a visit – I just can’t wait to go back!"

Great and fast service from every person we encountered. Loved the ginger apple plum tea, ribeye, and pork dumplings.

I've been here multiple times, and it's always fantastic. I really hope they add the beef naengmyun ramen to the menu permanently! View menu

Three of us went for lunch and sampled a variety of Japanese and Korean dishes (ramen, k-fries, bulgogi buns). All tasty, none exceptional. Reasonable prices, quick service.

One of my favorite places to eat! The food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly. I've heard some people say the dishes aren't spicy enough, but I disagree. My husband loves spicy food while I prefer a milder flavor, and we both enjoy the dishes at Mokbar.

Amazing restaurant! Loved the food and the ambiance! Great open kitchen with a view of the chefs. The appetizers were amazing and such a great concept for ramen! Friendly staff and so helpful! Don't miss the hocakes, disco fries, mushroom tempura, and kimchi ramen! Everything was just so yummy!!!! Will definitely be back soon!!!!!!!!! View menu

The food was excellent, and the portion sizes were reasonable—not as large as you might find in many other restaurants around the city, but perfectly adequate given the food market setting and the prices. The only major drawback is the lack of seating at the shop; while there are counters available, you'll need to find a place to sit, which can be a bit inconvenient. Overall, I’d rate the food a perfect 5/5.

The food is sooo creative and delicious! An amazing fusion of Korean food and Japanese ramen with a delicious broth and tender, juicy braised pork belly which just adds to the deliciousness! I also love the mushroom tempura and the fried farro dishes along with the hocake. But everything on the menu is amazing and you will not be disappointed. If you love Korean food and Japanese ramen, don't miss out because this new restaurant is a MUST TRY!!
