"My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this spot. He got the Tagliatelle Rusticana and I got the Paccheri in Salsa di Pistacchio. The Tagliatelle is a simple noodle but very hard to cook properly but Osteria definitely accomplished the feat. A lot of times, the noodles will clump together but they were cooked perfectly and brought him back to his Italian roots. The sauce was savory and the sausage cut through, all brought together with the delicious cherry tomatoes. As for the Paccheri in Salsa di Pistacchio, this was the most unique pasta dish I've ever gotten. The sweet, nutty pistachio sauce was phenomenal, and the buttery prawns mixed with the tomatoes and cucumber made it my favorite dish I've had in a long time. All of their wine is Italian, and we were very happy with the suggested wine. We finished the meal with vanilla gelato and espresso which was *chef's kiss*. The service was above and beyond. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and the other servers were socializing with us throughout the meal. Not only are they great at refilling drinks and suggesting dishes, but they were on top of pre bussing and wouldn't let an accidental drop of food stay on the table without sending someone to wipe it off. 10 out of 10!!"

I visited this restaurant for Mother's Day brunch, and my mother was extremely happy with the outstanding service, delightful food, and fantastic cocktails!

This is a true hidden gem! Everything on their menu was so fresh and delicious! Definitely try the saffron rice balls as an appetizer. The waitstaff was also very kind and attentive. We will definitely be back!

Took a while to get service but they were short staffed. Very friendly server named Tylisha! The food was of mixed portion sizes but was generally good. They kept the bread coming and it ended up being a good experience.

Osteria Rusticana is one of my favorite small Italian restaurants in Chicago. The meatball appetizer comes with a generous serving of tomato sauce, and dishes like linguine frutti di mare and ragu are consistently fantastic. View menu

Honestly only reason I'm giving it two stars was the service. Which was great. Got the risotto which was under cooked. Would not recommend unless you want to be in the bathroom minutes later. Overall, will not come back. Disappointed to say the least.

It's ok, but a step or two behind the other Italian spots on Division. Prices are decent and the wait staff was great, but the pastas were lacking in flavor. Nothing special about the drinks or wine. I wasn't disappointed but also don't think I'll go back.

My family and I really enjoyed this restaurant at first; the food was excellent. However, I'm not sure what went wrong, but it has noticeably declined. I gave it three chances to see if I had just visited on an off day, but unfortunately, each visit was disappointing. It’s sad to say that I won’t be returning. The only reason I don’t give a star rating is that everything else, especially the service, was truly outstanding. View menu

Stopped in for a smooth glass of Chianti that didn't disappoint. The kitchen is open as you walk by and you can see everything being handmade. There was one server running all the outside tables and the inside and was extremely attentive and kind. His name was Chris . We came 10 minutes before closing and he didn't seem to mind at all which we were appreciative of. The pastas are to die for. The chef gave us a complimentary tiramisu in a mason jar which was just the right portion size and a nice presentation! Don't miss this spot !

I started with one of their house-made sodas, which was both sweet and refreshing. The olive oil served with the bread was of high quality. For my appetizer, I chose the meatballs, which were excellent. I also tried the pistachio and shrimp pasta, a uniquely delicious dish that you won't easily find elsewhere—fantastic! My server was kind and genuinely enthusiastic about the food, and the other staff members ensured my water was always filled and took care of the dishes and glassware. This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time, and I hope to return soon!

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
