"Snuggled on the backroads of Berkeley Heights, NJ is Pastrami House. Travel to this location and some of it's views were indeed an awesome excursion. Ordered: Large Pastrami on Rye with Russian Dressing, Mustard, Side of Cole Slaw and a Pickel. Of course I couldn't help but top my sandwich with the Cole Slaw which totally made it even more awesome! The meat was a substantial stack, yet very tender and edible with little excess fat. The bread was soft. Overall this large style is a medium sized sandwich and just enough to be filling without having to take any partition home. The environment was quiet and cool and the staff was very friendly when taking the order. We ate indoors although there is an outdoor seating option. The restaurant was clean and tables included app ordering via QR code from the table. I would recommend Patrasmi House although our onion rings were forgotten, the sandwich was more than enough that the rings were an afterthought"

Great Pastrami Quesadilla at a great price. Made me crave more. Then I got the Big Meech roast beef panini and it was fantastic. Also, when picking up their time estimates are spot on to the minute.

The corned beef and pastrami at this restaurant are not authentic. They lack the deep red color and taste more like cold cuts that have been warmed up. The prices are high, but the bread section is good. Overall, this is not a true Jewish Deli, as the quality of the pastrami and corned beef falls short compared to other Jewish delis.

A traditional Jewish deli with unique offerings. We've not actually dined in here, but have gotten takeout from here. The sandwiches are really good. You can still get your traditional pastrami sandwich, but you can also get a not your run of the mill Reuben (turkey! here. You can't go wrong with the big Meech, the pastrami egg rolls, or the potato lakes! View menu

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The corned beef was incredibly tender and flavorful on fresh rye bread. I opted for a bowl of matzoh ball soup with noodles, which was not traditional but delicious with plenty of veggies and chicken. The matzoh balls were fantastic. The potato pancakes and rice pudding were also delicious. We can't wait to return soon!

I have visited this restaurant twice now. During my first visit, I ordered a Rueben sandwich which was very tasty, though it had a bit too much dressing and not enough meat for a $10 sandwich without fries or chips. On my second visit, I tried a special pastrami sandwich with cherry peppers, and it was absolutely delicious. However, I found that the meat portion and price were still a bit lacking. Overall, I would give it a very good rating. View menu

Second time here and once again I am thoroughly pleased with my hot pastrami sandwich. The rye bread held up to a well portioned sandwich of hot pastrami and mustard. Delicious! My wife had hers with Russian Dressing which she really enjoyed. My only complaint was that the pickle should be a whole pickle and be a sour pickle. We also got 2 Kinishes (Kasha and Potato). Both were very yummy. They have outdoor seating. Juniors cheesecake and Nasto's ice cream. You can't go wrong here in this lovely Pastrami House. Nice people and local give them a try you'll be glad that you did. Sorry no pic was starving.

Tried PH for the first time today and maybe I should've ordered the pastrami. The mac and cheese for my daughter was not really good. The blend of cheeses were eh and it was bland. I guess I thought the turkey was an actual roasted turkey and not deli meat so was disappointed about that. But at least my expectations are adjusted now. And you can get a much heartier turkey sandwich at a nearby deli for same price. The mini knishes and coleslaw were very good. The beef barley soup was VERY good. The rice pudding needs to be less sweet by a couple of notches but it was and nice and creamy. Even my kid said it was too sweet so we could only handle a few bites. I would go back to try other items.

"A big thank you to Sam and Gigi for making my luncheon such a hit! My husband and I hosted a bridal shower party for 40 guests on 'the patio ' last Saturday afternoon, and it was picture perfect. Once everyone arrived, appetizers were served family style, with generous platters of Gigi 's meatballs (so good, iykyk), calamari, and burrata crostini set down at each table. Next came the house salad, then guests had a choice of 3 entrees. Our menu had a selection of homemade ravioli, salmon with sauteed spinach and mashed potatoes, or chicken piccata in a lemon caper sauce with a potato cake: delicious. The menu included soft drinks, cafe Americano, tea, and we opted to offer guests wine or beer if they wished. It was just a lovely day, sunny and 70s, and the lush patio with its array of potted plants and trees and blooms was the perfect summery setting. Sam and Gigi provided beautiful table cloths and napkins, a long table for gifts and raffles, and an outstanding menu. Menu cards were very pretty, designed by Sam and Gigi 's daughter, and there was one at each place. Every guest who had never been to Bar Cilento is planning on coming back. My girlfriends want to meet there for lunch regularly. The food is excellent, and my 100% Italian aunt complimented Gigi on everything! As a Cilento regular, I have my super fave servers, and we were well taken care of by Kevin, Tanya, and a shout out to Sean who was on his third day working there and was a terrific understudy to his awesome senior staffers. All I had to do was show up, put flowers on the table, and have the sheet cake refrigerated. It was hassle free, and my daughter in law loved it as much as the guests. It is a warm and welcoming place to have a family party. Thank you everyone at Bar Cilento. Anne W"
