"While the food was tasty, I was surprised by the discrepancy between the menu provided by Open Table prior to dining, and the actual menu: not only were items missing--such as steak--but the actual price was much higher. For example, the shrimp and avocado salad was $10 on Open Table's Piccolo Cafe menu, and $17 at the restaurant. When we asked for a beer, the waiter said they were out. Later, after asking for cappuccino, he said there was no espresso. The service was lazy: no waiter checked to see if our dishes needed anything, and we had to wait quite a few minutes before parmesan was provided to top a pasta, or finally receiving the pepper I requested. Finally, the wine list was very limited."

A real Italian place staffed by Italians, I'm guessing anyway.

Good and wine was great. Some of The chairs and tables in the inside dining area are extremely small and chairs need pads for comfort. View menu

Small neighborhood restaurant. Service was fine. Enjoyed the salmon . Seats uncomfortable and inside area tiny. So. It’s up to you if this is the dining experience you want.

The restaurant is small but the atmosphere was wonderful. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Earth Wind and Fire was performing at the Beacon Theater and they played their songs the entire time pumping us up for the show. Most of the customers were going to the show. The experience overall was fabulous. View menu

Terrible service. Check your bill twice or three times. They calculated us twice tipping (one in the invoice and another in the credit card receipt). They calculated a regular coffee as cappuccino, a single tomato spaghetti as spaghetti with meatballs, $9 for two avocado slices on the side...etc. Very limited menu for brunch.

I have a last minute dinner reservation based on the reviews I read on Open Table. Unfortunately, my culinary experience was very different from previous reviewers. My family of 4 was lined into a small table, our ducks were slowly coming out; the table next to us sat later and received her food sooner than we did. The food was fair/good, but the portions seemed small, especially when plated in a large bowl. Service was dirty; had to request water several times. Has made takeout boxes available for residues. As already mentioned, dining room is very small. I'm sorry we're probably not coming back when we're in NYC Upper West.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
