"I ordered the curry chicken my husband ordered the stew chicken. I wanted to give this place a 5 stars so badly. I think I naturally root for the smaller businesses- my curry chicken almost got it there, but my husband's stew chicken was a little too greasy, I'm hoping it was just an off day. The cabbage rice taste more authentic than the chain Jamaican spots- it tastes like someone cooked my meal in their kitchen with love! the beef patties were just right. I'll definitely be stopping here again to try the oxtails."

I absolutely love Ruth's! She has been in business for 20 years. I've been coming here since I was a teenager with my dad, and now I'm 29. I do miss the old prices, but I understand that times have changed.

Great place to get Jamaican food. I had oxtails and pork jerk meals. Both were delicious and portion were big. Dishes came with rice and beans, vegetables and plantains. I will definitely return to get more food. View menu

Every time I visit New York to see family, I make sure to stop by this restaurant. My wife is a big fan of their curry goat, while I can't get enough of the ackee and salt fish—it's absolutely delicious! Their oxtails are fantastic as well! You just can’t find food like this in Texas!

I only had a bottle of ginger beer and a fried dough ball, but it was just what I needed on a 95-degree afternoon. The drink was refreshing, and the dough ball—whatever was in it—was surprisingly delicious. And it was just 50 cents! The young man at the counter was friendly and very helpful. By the way, I had just enjoyed two decent tacos next door, but the service there wasn't particularly warm.

I had previously tried the curry goat meal here, but I found it to be quite bland. Today, I finally mustered the courage to snap a picture of my affordable $8 meal: Jamaican Jerk Pork served with white rice and callaloo, which is a delightful vegetable. Initially, I was hesitant to try it. I was hoping to get cabbage, but they were out of it. So far, the meal is quite good, and the pork is tender. I look forward to returning to try another dish.

I always enjoy the food and the overall vibe of the place. You can count on leaving with a smile on your face any day. I also appreciate the care they take in preparing and packaging my meals. Today, since I'm not feeling well, I called ahead for some soup, and I know it will be hot, hearty, and just what I need.
