"I visited Sophie's Cuban Cuisine for lunch on a Sunday for the first time. The oxtails were tender, and the rice had a good texture, but I unfortunately found a piece of clear plastic in my meal. When I mentioned it to the cashier, who also served the food, she dismissed my concern and showed little interest. I asked if this was how they treat their customers, but she seemed indifferent and did not offer any compensation. Be cautious when dining here, as the customer service leaves a lot to be desired."

I was craving some Spanish style oxtails and went to check out Sophie's which is really convenient during a lunch break. The rice and peas was cooked right, the sweet plantains were delicious, the oxtail was very tender. I was expecting a little more seasoning and gravy.Food: 4/5

I've been to Sophie's Cuban Cuisine numerous times before. On this visit, I went with my go-to dishes: the beef and chicken empanadas, plus the oxtails accompanied by white rice and maduros. This place continues to impress me every time—it's incredible how consistent the quality has stayed over the years. Food rating: 4/5.

We tried their mango, papaya, and passion fruit smoothies, and although the mango was our favorite, each one was tasty. The staff was warm and efficient, and the restaurant was impeccably clean. We enjoyed various empanadas while soaking in the inviting ambiance. We're already looking forward to coming back and discovering more dishes from their menu! View menu

I'm not convinced this was authentic Latin food. I visited on a Friday night for dinner and was really disappointed—the food lacked flavor, even the rice was unpleasant. As someone who loves empanadas, I expected more, but the chicken empanadas fell flat. Something was definitely missing. The only highlights were the passion fruit juice and the friendly customer service.

Been coming to Sophie's since 2010 when they used to be on John St., if memory serves me right. Anyway, if you are look for a quick, great tasting, reasonably priced Latin meal, this is the place. You might not want to go back to work after such a hearty meal. However, they also offer empanadas and an array of pressed sandwiches for those looking for a lighter meal. All delicious.

On 04/10/2023, I ordered a small entree of pernil with yellow rice and yuca for $14, along with a side of freshly made tostones for $6. They provided spicy green sauce and garlic sauce as condiments. This was some of the best Cuban food I've had in quite a while! The entree was generous enough to serve two meals. The restaurant offers ample seating inside and has restrooms available for customers. View menu

Whenever I’m craving Spanish food, I always head to Sophie’s. The flavors are fantastic—while it might not quite beat my mom’s cooking, it’s definitely a great substitute when she’s not around. The pernil is perfectly tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. Their Cuban sandwiches are excellent, some of the best I’ve had. I no longer need to travel to Bergenline Ave in NJ to enjoy authentic Cuban cuisine.

I just bought food from there. Expensive food and small portions. I don’t recommend this to anyone. If you buy the bigger plate it’s because u want food.!!! 18 dollars for small pieces of meat and when you complain they say if u want more you gonna pay extra. So dissatisfied and the Cuban ladies are the ones who are rude and don’t like to give a lot in the plates. Trust me there’s more rice than anything else in the plate ????

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
