"The restaurant has its strong points: a pleasant ambiance, great cocktails, and a tasty chicken saltimbocca. However, it fell short of the 4-5 star reviews I had read for several reasons. The bread was overly dense—possibly stale—and was served with ricotta and a drizzle of olive oil that lacked flavor. The burata was accompanied by a nice mix of olives, peaches, prosciutto, and tomatoes, but the peaches and tomatoes were unripe, and the dish had been chilled, which was detrimental to the cheese and tomatoes. The Bolognese lacked seasoning, and while the saltimbocca featured two pieces of chicken, only one was topped with prosciutto and parmesan, leaving the other completely plain. Additionally, the server was quite inattentive despite the restaurant not being busy. Overall, it's better than many Italian spots in Pittsburgh, but that reflects more on the lack of quality options in the city rather than the excellence of this restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend it and I won’t be returning."

Our only critique is that the menu often features a variety of interesting options, but the printed version available online doesn’t always reflect the menu for the evening. This was particularly relevant in my wife’s choice of chicken. It would be helpful to have an updated menu available to avoid any surprises for diners with specific preferences. View menu

It is unusual to find lamb shank in Pittsburgh. Spoon's is excellent literally falling off the bone at a touch of the fork. The accompanying risotto was exceptional creamy and lightly flavored. The General Tso's cauliflower was a knock out I want to make it at home! I was a disappointed in the pavlova; the shell was too hard and didn't care for the curd or the cranberries. Stick with the classic fresh fruit and whipped cream :

The positives of this restaurant include a beautiful atmosphere, good cocktails, and a delicious chicken saltimbocca. However, it did not live up to the 4-5 star ratings I had seen for several reasons. The bread was too dense—possibly stale—and was served with ricotta and a bland olive oil. The burrata came with a lovely mix of olives, peaches, prosciutto, and tomatoes, but unfortunately, neither the peaches nor the tomatoes were ripe, and the entire dish was served lukewarm. Overall, it is better than many Italian restaurants in Pittsburgh, but that says more about the prevalence of mediocre Italian venues in the city than it does about the quality here. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant...
