Stella - Menu

This is the best meal we’ve ever had in Truckee.We had Gina as our waitress and she was amazing.The short rib was 10/10.We couldn’t recommend it more highly and we hope to be back soon!

Nice atmosphere. Not too many options. Pricy. Food was good, but not legendary. Server was great. For the price I expected a bit better. My friend ordered a dish and specifically stated no mushrooms please. Her meal was full of mushrooms. If you are paying these prices you should get exactly what you order.

Highly recommend this place. Absolutely flawless and creative food with impeccable service. Easily on par with the Michelin rated restaurants we’ve visited. We are so glad we came to Stella tonight. The food is incredible, the space is so welcoming, warm, and fun-the kitchen is fully open-so you get a first row seat to the creativity this restaurant delivers. We chose two dishes: a chicken/risotto and a swordfish/gnocchi...YUM this restaurant is a very easy drive from Downtown Truckee. Go here!

Great spot for a nice dinner in Truckee. My family really enjoyed the octopus and cauliflower appetizers, as well as the king salmon and tri-tip. The salmon was definitely the highlight and the sourdough Tartine was solid. The only dish we ordered that was so-so was the halibut as it came out a bit dry. We sat outdoor on the patio which was lovely and had a cute vibe. Service was great!

This was a favorite place of mine the past few years and it's only gotten better with the new chef and changes they've made. They now have full service waiters and more seating options. The menu choices became fewer but there is nothing on it that disappoints. The cauliflower is a staple and a must. The Tartine bread starter (not shown) was divine and great for sharing. My husband and I recently had dinner at Stella with another couple and it was great! Our table was ready when we arrived, a beautiful booth which I requested. Jasmine was our waitress. She was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive, and very pleasant. We had the gnocchi for an appetizer, which is outstanding and the polenta with Gorgonzola , which is delicious. Two of us had the veal piccata , which was out of this world, and the other two had pasta dishes , which they enjoyed. We finished off the meal with crème brûlée. Yum! We had a great evening and enjoyed every bite. Thank you, Elisa! We will see you soon!

This place was bad from the beginning. We were approaching the door and the hostess walked in before us and closed the door literally in our faces. Next we were seated in front of the open back doors, and it's 45°F outside. The people next to us were wearing puffy jackets and hoodies because it so cold inside the restaurant. The manager insisted they couldn't possibly close those doors because someone might sit outside. So we were seated at a table 3 feet from the previous table not much help. Then, hungry and waiting for our server, the lethargic waitress showed up and finally took our order THEN told us what wasn't on the menu, which happened to be what we ordered. Really wanted to like this place, especially since it's named after my pup . But unfortunately our experience wasn't very great. My dog would have checked in on me more. The hostess had a lovely welcoming smile and attended to us after we sat down, but then after that, while our water glasses were empty, she was folding napkins and cleaning tables that nobody every sat at. Maybe she thought that water filling and checking in was meant for the waitress but she was running around like a chicken with her head cut off.
