Swallow East - Menu

Food here was ok. The Shimp and grit was one of the best dish. Oysters were fresh. The oyster here was slightly salty. Another dish I loved was the seared tuna, topped with kind of olive pesto something, I think. A must. Service was ok. Great chance, esp. in the evening, to see the catch from the fishing tour.

The cocktails were yummy The food was basic but looked very pretty. great place for a group of friend if you like this area of the island. the outside seating was nice. food was basic but had nice parings, just lacked something service was good.

Our last stop on our three hour evening out on the town play date was Swallow East. We were actually there to pick up someone for the ride back to NYC. We had a cocktail at their front bar and enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant which was backed into a small craft boat dock. We dined here this evening. It was just what we like small plates. We started off with 2 drinks, I saw as soon as my drink came is was lacking the grey goose . It was all cranberry juice. I am used to paying high prices for drinks in Manhattan, and those are drinks. $17.00 for a glass of cranberry juice, is robbery! The service wasn 't bad. All they servers were helping each other. We ordered the shrimp and grits, Tuna Poke, mussels, and burratta. All the food was very good. I really wanted to give them 3 stars bc of the drinks, but food and service was good.

I was almost going to give this restaurant 3 stars, but decided on 4 due to the good service. We started off with ordering drinks, a Grey Goose and cranberry for my wife and an orange Stoli's for myself, priced at $17 and $14 respectively. What a shock! I don't mind spending money on drinks, but at least put some more alcohol in them for the price. The food is mostly served tapas style, so we ordered 4 items to share: burrata, mussels, shrimp and grits, and tuna poke. All the dishes were tasty, but the mussels were a bit too oily and the tuna poke lacked garnish. The service was excellent, with a lot of servers working together.

We went for lunch in Aug expected a big wait, but many open tables. Bring friends, played are to share. We samples: MTK Chowder, shrimp cocktail, asparagus fries and fish tacos. And dessert. Hubby liked the chowder looked like a combo of Manhattan and New England. Much change up. Shrimp cocktail was good shrimp cooked well, not tough. Had two sauces cocktail and ginger garlic (yum! Ordered the asparagus fries bc so many people raved thought they were 'eh '. Large asparagus, in tempera batter both batter and asparagus were soggy. The fluke fish tacos were AWESOME. Highly reco. I love how they have an option to either sit in their outdoor patio or outside deck by the water. It was a bit chilly the day we visited so we chose the outdoor patio. Fries were my ultimate favorite they were perfectly crisp. Lo mein's meat was just the right amount of tender. It did get a little saltier by default towards the bottom of the bowl because that's where all the sauce sits. So I definitely recommend mixing before eating but it was still delicious, I finished the whole thing. I have a low spice tolerance so unfortunately couldn't enjoy the shrimp and grits dish but my friend said it had a nice spice kick to it and would recommend this dish as well. Following the requisite trip to the lighthouse, needed a relatively affordable place for lunch nearby. Swallow East offers up delicious food at okay prices with a pleasant atmosphere to boot. Sunday afternoon and the giant place has barely anyone inside. Almost all the people were seated in the covered patio overlooking Lake Montauk. After getting settled in, ordered the Octo Taco $14) and Pommes Frites $7). The taco shells are actually crispy wontons, which held together surprisingly well against the filling. We had an amazing time at this waterfront restaurant! We were lucky to catch some of the Montauk Music Fest during our visit, and it was reggae night on Sunday which made it even more fun! Initially, I was hesitant about the menu not being very vegan-friendly, but our waiter, Josh, who I believe is also the general manager, informed us that the kitchen could make delicious veggie tacos upon request.
