"A very solid, very authentic place to get some Mexican food. Not quite drive-thru fast, but not as long as a sit down Mexican resteraunt. Management keeps the place very clean, I have been in a dozen identical places that were not nearly as clean as Tasty Tacos, so definite credit for that. The food is slightly above average Mexican fare. This isn't a Taco Bell, but everyone knows what taco bell is. If you want fluffy, flour shells, this is the place to go!"

This a great place with actual tasty tacos. The shells are homemade and make the tacos. I tried both the regular and steak flour tacos.

Grew up on this place as a treat. Their soft shell tacos are why you should eat here! They start the meat then finish it inside the taco shells. They now sell their seasoning hot sauce in the Hy-Vee grocery stores. View menu

I would rate the original flour tacos here against any in the United States. Having lived in and traveled throughout the Southwest, and visited numerous chain and family-owned restaurants, I can confidently say that Tasty Tacos is by far the best. Their homemade sauce is unmatched in both flavor and quality.

I had a super simple lunch here—a bean and cheese burrito and nachos. The beans were incredibly fresh, which is something you don't come across often. The nachos were pretty basic; I would have preferred the cheese to be drizzled on from the start, but that's just a minor detail. Overall, I’d rate it 5/5 and would definitely eat here again if I'm in Des Moines!

The chicken flour tacos and flour chips with queso are tasty but could benefit from a bit more seasoning. Aside from that, I have no complaints; the food was prepared quickly and was fresh! P.S. Everyone should bow down and express their gratitude for the amazing experience that is Tasty Tacos! Alright, I might be exaggerating a bit, but I really do love Tasty Tacos. The original flour tortillas are fantastic, but I highly recommend trying the pork and chicken. Both are packed with delicious flavors, with the pork having an extra kick of heat. We also really enjoy the nachos!

Seeing that the order-taker was somewhat dismissive and preoccupied with his phone, I asked in Spanish if it could be done. I also inquired about the cost, intending to pay for it. To my surprise, they offered it to us for free. This gesture truly made my sister's day, allowing us all to enjoy a meal together. Thank you once again! It’s important for more restaurants to be inclusive and considerate of customers' allergies and dietary restrictions.
