"We decided to go to this restaurant as our last night in Newport before going back to the Washington DC area. The ambience was absolutely beautiful and the staff was very kind except I guess she was one of the Managers. At the end of our meal, she came by to see if we wanted the check before even offering us dessert. We told her we were not ready yet. Never did she come by just see if we were okay and pleased with everything. Our waiter was so gracious and asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu which we reviewed and respectfully declined. The woman Manager came back again and asked did you get the check yet? I politely asked her is there a reason we are being asked to leave? She said oh no I just was checking because I read it was your anniversary and I wanted to see if you want a piece of cake. I politely declined her cake as we travel all over the country and I have never been asked twice if I need the check. Was she questioning our ability to satisfy the expense? My husband reminded me although identified as four star, luxury level restaurants know better than to do that. So essentially it speaks for itself.Hospitality 101 is to never rush your customers especially new ones out of your restaurant especially when no one is waiting on the table. Treat all customers with the same respect! You never know who you are talking too, and unfortunately I will remember this poor decision.Otherwise, thank you to the waiter and host that were so great!"

Very pricey hotel for not so pricey service and food. We had our anniversary night here which we noted to them and they never told us happy anniversary. We also had the breakfast package but nothing on the menu was under $21. The outlets in the room for phones were no where near the beds. The room was very humid. The bikes were free but a little rickety.

I visited twice. First was in December (off season) and we spent the night in one if the rooms. It was lovely. So comfortable and luxurious. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. We had a delicious dinner at an event we attended in the restaurant and the breakfast buffet was perfect. Tge second time I visit was during labor day weekend. The place was hopping! Restaurant needs help! Had better food at the ballpark. Specifically Lobster Roll Roll Stale Lacked Lobster or any protein that resembled lobster taste overpowered by dill Gnochii so tiny would have done better if it was used in a soup.Dinning Room Empty and can see why. Janet is not qualified to represent this establishment. As a party of 8 we received the more terrible service at the patio. This “manager” said “fine let them go. You don’t want to talk to me that way” threatening just because are party ordered meals and drinks that’s took 2 hours to come out. We were not welcomed by the waitress or by Janet while we could pay for everyone’s dinner at this establishment. This restaurant needs to properly train its staff.
