"The Ugly Oyster Drafthaus was very cute! We had the Crab dip which was very good. It was served with bread, pretzels and sesame seed crackers. We tried the house oysters from Virginia which were good had a slight grassy finish but a soft brine and plump meat. We also tried the Mapaque, from Prince Edward Island which had a heavy briny flavor and was quite delicious. We then had the steamed little neck class and snow crab legs. The clams were fantastic but the Crab legs were over cooked. We tried the hand cut french fries we were excited for the malt vinegar on the table but the first bottle was not good (it was sitting in the window) and the second bottle was watered down. It was kind of disappointing. The garlic bread sides were good missing the garlic so it was more like a buttery toasted bread. The other people we were with liked their entrees the portobello mushroom sandwich and grilled chicken salad. Overall, the experience was pretty good we would probably come back and give some of the other seafood options a try. The overcooked crablegs and bad malt vinegar are the reasons for the 4 stars."

I haven't had the pleasure of visiting the pub, but, I have ordered and had delivered. The food is amazing. I am very picky about my crab meals. Ice had the ugly pretzel, crab dip and crab cake sandwich. All outstanding!!! Wish I could eat there more often. Major props and respect!!

We had a great time here!! The fish and chips were a popular selection, I enjoyed oysters and the Caesar salad. It was so good to have the vinaigrette dressing instead of the creamy Caesar from a bottle. There were also a lot of great beer draft options! Will go here again next time I am in town!

We were fortunate to secure a table without a reservation. We were promptly seated and ordered some appetizers, which turned out to be delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was exceptional, especially the fries which were outstanding. I highly recommend dining at this restaurant. View menu

The food was excellent and the service was welcoming, friendly, and exceptional. We ordered the signature pretzel and it was incredibly delicious. The crab and pretzel pairing was perfect. I opted for the fish and chips and the fries were outstanding. The fish was tender and the breading was perfectly crispy.

I loved coming to this place just because of the nice beer list... until I opened a box for my sandwich and when I opened there was a dead cockroach smashed up on the lid. Big!!!! When I called the owner to tell him he apologized, but when my husband tried to call him a second time, he ignored his calls. He's lucky I didn't call the health inspectors. I can't go stomach again.

This is definitely a place worth visiting. I got the Fish and Chips which was very delicious. I finished the entire plate with malt vinegar and the lemon slices. No ketchup was served, which means the fries were good enough to eat without. Although they seemed to lack a solid Porter or Stout selection, the Belgian ale I got there was excellent. Definitely a must-hit-once-food-stop of Berks County.

This restaurant in Reading is a hidden gem, at least in my opinion. I finally decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. I started with the blue point raw oysters as an appetizer and they were incredible - super fresh and delicious. For my entree, I had the fish and chips and they were spot on! The lightly breaded, well-seasoned thick pieces of pollock were fried to perfection. I also love the old bar and the vintage ambiance of the restaurant. It's the perfect place to cozy up by the fire on a cold winter day and enjoy some delicious food.

"Although the food and our server were excellent my overall first impression of Mimmo’s is just okay. My mother in law wanted to come here for Mother’s Day so I went ahead and made a reservation. They didn’t advertise a limited menu for Mother’s Day so we were upset they didn’t have anything we actually wanted to order. We wanted the crab and artichoke dip to start and it wasn’t on the menu. We wanted the Chicken Toscana, my teenage nephew and niece had a hard time picking out meals because we also came to order pizzas which were not offered! My mother in law ordered the stuffed shrimp scampi and she said it came out cold after it took a long time for our food to come out. By the time her food was remade our table was done eating and she was the one we were celebrating!! Our reservation was at 2:30p and when we arrived no one was in the foyer to greet us. From there the server was great but the food service was slow. I understand it was Mother’s Day and expected to be busy but we waited so long for a limited pasta menu just to have one of our meals come out cold. At 2:30p it seemed like a Friday night would be more chaotic as it didnt seem too chaotic in the afternoon, just filled with people all waiting for food. It seemed as though they were ill prepared for Mother’s Day. I’m disappointed there wasn’t a manager that came around to greet tables. I’m also upset they didnt comp my MILs meal since she did t get to enjoy. I thought the food was good once it finally came out but I would just rather go to like a chain restaurant such as Texas Roadhouse or even Buca di Beppo they know how to pump out the food quick, provide service on busy holidays and it’s always consistent and good. I’m sorry mom and pop restaurant, we tried you for Mother’s Day and it just wasn’t a great 1st impression for me. I’d love to come back for a lunch on the patio with less pressure to please my mother in law! The drink I had was delicious and I’m still curious to try the pizza!"
