"This restaurant and bar exudes charm, reminiscent of a classic venue in old Washington, D.C., brimming with history. I can only imagine the stories these walls could tell, filled with countless layers and secrets! It seems to attract a mix of newer restaurants and trendy patrons, making it a convenient choice for a quick bite—there were plenty of seats available during my visit. The burger I had was quite tasty, and I also enjoyed the sweet potato fries. While I didn’t have any drinks since I was working, I can comment on the delightful ambiance and the quality of the burger. Our server was friendly and attentive, and I would definitely return if I'm in the area again."

Great burgers! They’re huge and very filling. All of them sound great but this was the Rocky Mountain. Got a cool atmosphere too so check it out.

After spending the day at the National Library of Congress and the Smithsonian, we stumbled upon this really cool original dive bar just a short walk away. The decor is fantastic!

Burgers were really good. The beer battered burger was definitely worth coming to this place. Decor was neat and the place was really clean. The onion rings and sweet potato fries were over cooked/burnt and the service was not the greatest. If in DC again would come back for the burger.

Wonderful atmosphere, and service. Our server, Ricky was great. Told lots of jokes and really made some out of towners feel very welcomed. The food was okay and felt a bit greasy. To the point that we had to wash our hands after. Would definitely go again. The Mac and cheese wedges were amazing!!! View menu

We found this place by accident. What a wonderful little location! I had super delicious blueberry pancake breakfast. The coffee was terrific and the waiter was very attentive. My coffee cup was never empty. I loved the decor. Loads of nostalgia along with a wonderful collection of antiques, fire department gear and heads of stuffed wildlife. It was fun just looking around at the walls and it's kitschy collections.

During my recent trip to town for a conference, I discovered this wonderful restaurant by chance. Ricky, the bartender, was truly outstanding—he's easily one of the best I've ever encountered. He was extremely friendly, approachable, and just a genuinely great person. The food was fantastic as well, and they offer breakfast too. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a straightforward and enjoyable dining experience.

I came for the atmosphere; I stayed for the excellent service. And I do mean really amazing service on a Sunday afternoon in February when this bartender was also covering the ALL of the table service as well! Unfortunately, they were out of several tap beers, including Guinness, and a few menu items, including collard greens. The French dip sandwich was decent, but nothing amazing. The fried mushrooms really hit the spot though. I?ll be back again, maybe later in the View menu

Hidden gem within a street of random walk up food near the Library of Congress. Where else can you go where the salt of the earth locals are saddled up at the bar and the bartender takes a shot with the customers? Classic bar food but it all came out incredibly higher than my expectations for a dive bar. Chicken tenders were real chicken yummy breading, burgers so tasty, mozzarella sticks were huge, one order was 4 and chicken waffles filling. Servers were friendly the vibe is local, down to earth. Teens were able to be seated too.

OK, so the only reason I'm giving 4 stars is that I didn't try any of the food. But, for drinks, service, and ambiance (hey, gotta love a good dive bar! , I give all the stars. Seems I always get looks when I walk into a new dive bar alone, but I got NO attitude from either Ricky or Matty(? when asking about their draft beers. Being from California, I had to try the local IPA, which did not disappoint. I went back the following night and was remembered. The only thing that could be negative was that the prices seemed high for a dive, no matter how cool a place it is, but everyone's prices are high these days, so I won't complain.
