"I recently tried the oxtail plate, and honestly, the best way to describe the oxtail is bland—definitely not in a good way. It seems like the cooks don't use any salt, which is essential for enhancing flavor. The meat tasted as if it had simply been boiled in water with no seasoning at all. The cabbage was just as uninspired. The rice was the pre-packaged type, and it was quite disappointing—cooking rice is really straightforward: just two cups of water for every cup of rice! On the brighter side, the sweet potatoes and cornbread were quite good. Since it was my birthday, I decided to treat myself and spent $40, but honestly, the meal was just mediocre at best."

The food was excellent and well-seasoned. The portions were quite generous. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly.

Went and got a oxtail plate lunch which is $31. To come come and the oxtails were undercooked which gave a tough consistency. I will not be returning to two podners the food tasted horrible! View menu

Wow, the food here was terrible. The black peas were undercooked, and the spaghetti tasted like ketchup. This place used to have good food, but now it's just awful—I'm really disappointed! I definitely won't be returning.

Decent BBQ. I had a combo plate. The meats were good. I'm not a fan of the BBQ sauce (personal preference) so I'll do without next time. I really like the BBQ beans. Mustard potato salad was good but not my preference either. I will try out the dailyspecials next time.

I had lunch here with a coworker. The food is served cafeteria style, but unfortunately, they had run out of some of the entrees, which was a bit disappointing. On the bright side, the vegetables were fresh and flavorful, not canned and greasy, which I really appreciated. Overall, that was a big plus for me. View menu

I live in Frisco and if you live in the area you know that there isn?t any decent soul food that far north. My friend and I decided to take a Saturday drive down to fair park area and eat where we found this gem! We both ordered a fish plate and I had sweet potatoes and black eyed peas, with cornbread. The food was hot and fresh and everything tasted like it was made with love. I can?t wait to come back to get my soul food fix. I also want to try the barbecue as I hear it?s pretty good.

So, just got the oxtail plate. One word to describe the oxtail... Bland and I'm not talking about Bobby Blue Bland. 2 ponders cooks don't seem to use salt. Salt enhances and brings out flavor. It's like they put them in just a pot of water and boiledthem and that's it no seasoning just water, the cabbage was the same. The rice was the boil in bag type and it was horrible.Rice is simple to make 2 cups of water, 1 cup of rice. Sweet potatoes were good and the cornbread was good. It was my birthdayso I splurged a bit, spent 40 bucks on something that was in a word meh at best.
