"I understand that they were closing permanently this weekend, but given that they have other locations, I expected more effort to provide a great final dining experience for their local Oceanside customers. The service was disappointing; it took nearly 20 minutes to place our drink order, and our food was not prepared as requested (we ordered a medium rare burger but received it well done). After this experience, I doubt we will visit any other Urge locations."

Our first time there for a birthday celebration. Had a good time the food was excellent and so was the waitress.

The service was awful. If they want to serve bratwurst, they should at least have a recipe that’s better than what you could make at home. View menu

The service was awful. If you're going to offer bratwurst, it should be a recipe that's an improvement over what you can easily make at home.

Our waiter, Colin I think, was great. He was very personable, attentive and friendly. The music was too loud for us and he had it turned down.

excellent Sunday brunch. the food was excellent and the ambiente is beautiful. the service was dirty with water glasses that were not refilled too long. that has not been distracted by beautiful experience. View menu

I really enjoy Urge! The food and drinks are great, and the service is excellent as well. While I wouldn’t say the menu is anything extraordinary, it’s a favorite spot for my husband and me for our weekly date night.

I enjoy drinking here, and the drinks are great. The service is also excellent. While I wouldn't say the menu is anything extraordinary, it has become a favorite spot for my partner and me for our weekly evening dates.

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
