This charming little diner has a delightful atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the local food is quite tasty. The homemade sausage gravy is exceptionally good, and they offer a wide variety of classic bottled sodas.

We were truly impressed with the genuine friendliness of the owner and her family. They love what they do and it shows. The food was outstanding! The breakfast pasty and gravy were delicious and the omelets amazing! So glad we stopped!

I arrived drenched and muddy after biking across the country. The new owner, Jen, kindly invited me to wait out the rain and even introduced me to some friendly locals for the evening. It seems this is the spot to enjoy delicious goulash—or to have all your troubles taken care of. It's a classic diner brimming with old-school charm.

We were quite disappointed to find that we arrived too early for the 2022 season during our visit to 27 Miles. However, the owner and manager of the gift shop was incredibly helpful, providing us with great recommendations for breakfast and nearby scenic spots. This is a charming 1950s diner and restaurant featuring a delightful two-story gift shop. The owner, a longtime employee, is committed to preserving the history and family tradition of the diner. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area and the upper half of the island. The food is fantastic, and everything is freshly baked and homemade. We indulged in goodies from the gift shop, including chocolate chip cookies.

We stumbled upon this place while camping in Grand Maria's MI. The first morning, we ordered the build your own omelettes...the second morning, we did the same. They were soooo good, we couldn't imagine trying anything else, although the people around us raved about the French toast and Finnish pancakes. While we waited for our meal we were invited to browse the gift shop, which has many lovely things. We also left with some fresh from the oven cookies. The staff is so engaging! We visited with the owner, whose daughters, mom and aunt were also working and loved watching this very capable group of women make this business hum. Do not miss this stop!!

Now, about the food—breakfast was absolutely incredible! I had the breakfast pasty, while my mother chose the French toast. Both the bread and the pasty crust had a homemade taste that was simply delicious. One taste and you’ll want to savor every last bite. I highly recommend making the trip, even if it's a 30-minute detour for a meal.
