"We had an amazing experience. The subtlety of flavors and creativity of choice ingredients come together in a way that can only be done by the best of the chefs. This is the best food we had in Winston Salem, including our own restaurant we are very proud of. Excellently served by a pleasant and knowledgeable server. The owner checks their guests during the bussing tables is the type of engagement that drives a great place like this. Don't skip Dessert, not here. Old fashion classics such as chocolate mousses or the creative elegance of a fresh berry and goat cheese tea are not to be missed and obviously made in house with the same passion as the rest of the menu. We recently went back, Nov 2022, and had another exalted experience. The sea red tuna over cold noodles really has left a great impression on each of us. Duck 2ways is good for your soul! And gluten free. With food allergies I generally stay away from restaurants and just cook at home but 1703 made me feel confident in eating out. They squeezed us on on friday during parents night at wake forest! Great wait staff, very professional owner, and killer chef!

I recently visited this restaurant and was blown away by the incredible food! The Caesar salad featured real anchovies, which made it outstanding. I also had some of the best roasted chicken I've ever tasted, reminiscent of my northern Michigan roots. This was my first visit to 1703, which coincided with a friend's birthday and the historic announcement of Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States, along with Kamala Harris as Vice President. There was plenty to celebrate! The restaurant has strong Covid-19 protocols in place for both indoor and outdoor dining—check their Facebook page for details. The cocktails were fantastic, the food was delicious, and the staff was attentive and friendly. I will definitely return. The service here is fantastic! The menu options are impressive and visually appealing. The wine list is exceptional, with all selections reasonably priced given their quality. I highly recommend starting with the bread and butter; it’s a delightful surprise. The goat cheese and BBQ Brussels sprouts are a perfect match, and the wild mushroom risotto is simply outstanding, hitting all the right notes. The sea bass was beautifully cooked—crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside, complemented perfectly by a lemon sauce with succotash.
