"Applewood is the perfect place to indulge in home-cooked meals that aren't from a chain. Their menus for breakfast, lunch, and likely dinner are quite extensive. When we arrived at 11:00 am, we were given the choice of both breakfast and lunch menus, which made it difficult for me to decide what to order. Ultimately, I opted for lunch, but breakfast also looked tempting. There’s truly something for everyone on the menu. The atmosphere has a classic diner vibe, and the glass enclosure with finches adds a delightful touch. The food was good—not so extraordinary that I would call it the best I've ever had, but satisfying enough that we left feeling pleased and full. My wife and I both chose the Trio, which included fried chicken, chicken pot pie, and chicken and dumplings. I enjoyed every bite, but my wife wasn’t as impressed with the pot pie; to be fair, I do make a better version at home, so her standards are higher. Nevertheless, we would definitely return for another visit if we get the chance."

The food is fantastic! Just be aware that it's a well-known tourist destination, which means it can get quite crowded and you may need to wait for some time. I would give it a five-star rating if they had call-ahead seating available.

Everything about this restaurant and the overall experience was outstanding. Judy was an exceptional waitress—truly the best we've had in a long time, anywhere! The food was incredible. I highly recommend the meatloaf, chicken-fried steak, and fried chicken. The apple fritters and potato soup were also fantastic.

I had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant, with only a short wait of about 20 minutes. The service was excellent! The fritters served with apple buttercream and the desserts were truly delicious—some of the best banana pudding I've ever tasted. However, the main courses and sides were a bit too salty. We love this place and go every year. However, the breakfast it’s the best time of day to go. You have to be there when they open or shortly after in order to get on the wait list and get there in time for breakfast. We arrived shortly after 10 am (knowing breakfast ends at 11) and were told that we would not be seated before breakfast ends. If you do end up being seated during lunch hours, the chicken and dumplings and fried chicken are great!

I believe that the birds in the restaurant deserve to be in their natural habitat rather than in a glass cage. Additionally, I’m not a fan of having plates that are all the same color. Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed with the food I had. However, the staff member who served me was friendly and attentive, so I’ll add one extra point for their service. All in all, I'm giving it 2 stars, which might prompt some reflection. If the birds are set free, I would be willing to reconsider my rating.
