"My teenage son and I were fortunate to find Austin's by chance a year ago in November 2022. We are from the Detroit suburbs, so when we planned our next trip to Mentor for this November, we made a reservation right away. We were just barely rolled into the parking lot before closing time on a Friday night, but we made it and it was everything we hoped it would be. The most friendly and efficient service. Great food. The ribeye cooked just as ordered medium-rare. The orange roughy with crabmeat stuffing was excellent. The chocolate cake amazing. It will probably be another year before we return, but will be the first place we go when we roll into town."

Excellent service. Excellent food and drinks. Some of the best service since Covid19. Thank you.

3 of the guests in our party ordered the steak special, 2 were cooked perfectly but 1 was overcooked so another steak was cooked but it was also a little over done but not as much as the first steak. View menu

Ordered 2 meals fillet and ribs. The food was tasty. The sides were very good (baked potatoes, broccoli, asparagus) the meat was good but not particularly hot. Waiter was very pleasant, coming to check on us periodically.

Our first time dining there. We went for our Anniversary. We were very pleased with our server. She was very efficient and attentive. The service was quick. We loved the Shrimp cocktail, steaks were delicious and even had dessert. Liked the casual atmosphere. We will definitely go back!

Have eaten here before but this time I was really disappointed in the quality of the strip steak. The steak was tough, no way was it a Prime cut of beef. Everything else was fine with the meal. Prices are high for what you are getting, I could have gone to a Longhorn and had a better meal for 20% less than what I paid at Austins. View menu

From online info, I thought this was a nicer place. It is more like a sports bar. Our server was excellent albeit it took a long time for food. Our booth for 5 was very nice. I ordered baked stuffed shrimp. It was not good. It was like average shrimp with stove top stuffing on it. The rice had a strange aroma and taste. Best thing was the broccoli. Accommodations for our own cake was nice. Food is severely overpriced for the quality. I might go back for a lunch and/or drinks.

Food was great....the BEST Caesar salad I've ever tasted. Bookers bourbon was FABULOUS as was the Lina wine. Dinner for two was almost $300 with drinks, and desserts extra side dishes so when we asked to buy the bourbon glass we were using as an Anniversary momento the manager wouldn't sell it to us, that was disappointing. Manager said people keep stealing their glasses (not sure why he wouldn't sell it to us since we actually asked but whatever). Found the glasses online we will just give the money to someone else. I think this memory will stick with me longer then the food/drink memory about this establishment. ?‍

"This place should have a line out the door to eat here. Honestly, some of the best food (Thai or otherwise) I have had (speaking as a 300 pound man). It would not surprise me if, one day, it is considered easier to escape from Alcatraz back in the day than to get an open table here. I started with the spring rolls which were fresh and piping hot. The insides were perfectly peppered and the chili sauce served to complement well. For my main dish, I had the crispy chicken fried rice... where to start with this one??? The chicken itself was juicy, cut-with-a-spoon-tender, salted perfectly, and with a nice, crisp breading that is fried to perfection. If Colonel Sanders were alive today, you would be getting KFC served a la Thai 999 Express. Now, for the rice itself. I ordered a level 4, and was warned it might be a bit much. I did get a little bead or two of sweat, but it wasn't overpowering. Mind you, I enjoy spicy foods and have built a tolerance. Your mileage may vary. As far as the taste quality of the rice, this is where Thai 999 Express earned its wings with me. I love fried rice, and I (perhaps unfairly) judge an Asian restaurant's quality by their fried rice. Let's be honest, if a restaurant can't make good fried rice, it doesn't bode well for the rest of the menu? Thai 999 Express has, hands down, the absolute best fried rice I have ever had. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and eat here. You're welcome."
