"I'm going to round up to 4 stars, because I don't quite think it's a 3 star review. We had just seen a matinee at the Papermill and I've been told that Basilico does a mean Baked Alaska, so we had an early dinner here. We had a reservation at 5:45pm but they were able to seat us at 5:15pm, which was super awesome. The inside is quite large and it's a pretty romantic spot. We opted to split 2 appetizers and an entrée, since their portions looked pretty big. We had the carpaccio and the octopus, which were both fantastic. I loved the octopus, it was so tender and the dressing they tossed it in was acidic and refreshing. We had the braised short ribs with saffron risotto as our main and it was just OK the risotto was kind of dry and the short ribs didn't have enough sauce with it. I, of course, got the Baked Alaska, and X had their Souffle of the day, which was Banana. The Baked Alaska was also just OK, it wasn't much like other Baked Alaska's that I've had and the ice cream was super stiff and frozen. The souffle though, was absolutely amazing, and I would highly recommend getting their souffle. Service was attentive without being overbearing and we felt well taken care of. It looks like a very popular pre theater spot, so make sure you make reservations!"

If your judge a restaurant by their desserts....then Lord help us. This tiramisu has me begging for more.

The food is top-notch here and there is a very nice atmosphere. It's the staff here who shine and every time we've come here, Wilson has been spectacular. He's very attentive and offers Great suggestions.

Very good experience! Went here with my family and had a wonderful time. On top of that, the food was delicious and a highlight was the special: the strawberry shortcake. Great restaurant, would definitely recommend!

I've visited this restaurant several times while in Millburn, and it never disappoints. It's located next to what is likely the best deli in the state, Millburn Deli. The restaurant itself has a warm and friendly atmosphere, with a welcoming staff. The menu is diverse and easy to navigate, and the BYOB policy is a great bonus! View menu

My favorite Italian restaurant in New Jersey! Everything they serve is fantastic. I absolutely love their Arancini; they remind me so much of how my mom makes them. For many Italians, ordering a meatball in a restaurant is considered sacrilege, but theirs are truly delicious too. You really can't go wrong here. We often order catering from them for holidays.

The ambience of the restaurant is nice especially on a warm spring day. But the food is just okay at best, nothing is really flavorful and bordering bland. This was our first time here so we didn't really know what to expect. And then on top of the food just being okay I got very ill later on in the evening from the food I had eaten here. A very poor introduction to a restaurant for me. I most likely won't be coming back

Recently had dinner here before seeing a show at Papermill Playhouse. Even though they have a liquor license, they were kind enough to open some Prosecco we had brought with us. I loved seeing a bunch of gluten free options on the menu and truffle specials! I ordered the grilled artichoke and arugula salad which was very good. For my main dish I ordered one of the truffle specials homemade pappardelle with sausage, mushrooms, and truffles. Absolutely fantastic! I will definitely be back. View menu

We had a great time here for dinner. Beautiful, local restaurant with street parking or small lot attached. They are BYOB, but also have so.e wines available for purchase. Great news...if you want one of their pastas, they are flexible and you can order an appetizer portion. They even split our cacio e pepe in the kitchen! Delicious. The lasagna and salmon were also very delicious. Overall, a nice evening with amazing service and reasonably priced. So glad that they survived the flood from last year. We'll be back.

I had an incredible meal at this restaurant. Everything was fresh and packed with flavor! I was particularly impressed with the Frutti di Mare pasta and the Ossobucco, both of which featured wonderful fresh pasta. Be sure to save some space for dessert, as Donna, the pastry chef, has truly perfected her creations! The Napoleon was absolutely divine, and the tiramisu was equally delightful. The Chocolate Soufflé was also delicious and wonderfully light! If you find yourself in the Milburn area, Basilico is definitely the spot for dinner!

"I tried this establishment since it’s opening and the service is severely lacking in skills. Our waiter wasn’t able to speak about flavor profiles of the cocktails. When placing our meal order, we requested flour tortilla for their tacos. When order came out, we mentioned that the tacos had been placed on corn and his response was “it only comes this way”. If he had stated that earlier, the fiber would have chooses differently. The lack of service was so apparent, we requested to speak to the manager. The manger arrives without saying his name nor did state “how may I help you”. The manger stood there and said hello. And it was just awkward. He did offer to remake the plate; but enough time had passed and my friend was starving. Instead of checking on us as we were almost the only 1 of 3 tables, no one checked in. Upon paying, we asked our waiter to just call out the names on the credit cards and his response was “I have to clean”. In the time the waiter stated that, he could had read/passed out the receipts. We asked for a manager and this time the assistant manager came to our table and this time we were just horrified about the lack of professionalism. She did comp the tacos; but if you have to speak two times to management for lack of customer service, there is an opportunity to enhance staff training and an opportunity for the manager to just check-in and take care of the table himself. Do not know if I can recommend this establishment as service and management style are not consistent with what a restaurant that wants longevity."
