"Wonderful service and ambiance. They claim their menu is sustainable, but all three fish options are “ worst choice” on the Monterey Aquarium fish list and no “best choice” options. Also three varieties of highest carbon, imported from far away steak options. Not many veggie options. Stop the green washing please"

"What an amazing place for our tasting dinner! It was the perfect intimate space for an incredible meal with our family and friends, and so much of it was Eder. We can thank Eder and the staff enough for the evening coming together perfectly. Eder was so thoughtful during this process. He worked in our budget to create a menu that our guests loved. He called us the week before, as well as the day before to confirm all the details. He even made sure that we only ask how we got together with our wedding, which showed us how much he was doing for our evening and weekend. At dinner the waiters were also extremely attentive and made sure everyone had enough wine and food during the meal. The room was perfect, between the lighting and the place settings. We would definitely recommend this room for all those who marry in Carmel Valley, it was very special! Thank you, Eder!"

"I had always wanted to try this restaurant, but my budget never quite allowed for it. I had heard great things about it. So, on July 29, 2021, I made a reservation. When I arrived, I was seated on the covered outdoor terrace. My server came over to tell me about the specials and ask for my order. I opted for the oven-roasted pork loin medallions with baked sweet potatoes, mushroom sauce, and winter greens. It was absolutely wonderful! The pork was tender, the sauce was just right, and the sweet potatoes—my favorite—were delicious as well. My server, whom I believe was named Ramon, was very attentive. I was also pleasantly surprised by the hostess, who reminded me of someone from Bahama Billy's—though I'm sorry, I can’t recall her name. I definitely plan to return. Thank you for the great food and service!"

"Don?t let the Beer Garden tag fool you! This little gem of a local eatery is serving up some fantastic tasting meals with many a European flare. From France to Spain, you can dive in to whatever you are seeking. We stopped for breakfast on a Sunday morning, not too crowded at 9:30, but hopping by the time we left. My wife had the Tocino Omellet and I had 2 Eggs my way with a ham steak. They have decadent beignets and I was told to check out the Mac N Cheese, which I had to have hot, so I ordered a small kids plate as a side and was floored by the flavor. They offer several different combos of that, so I cannot wait to get back and try more. Friendly servers and quaint and relaxing ambiance, make this a great choice for breakfast or lunch. Gotta check out dinner next time!"

"Our experience at Roux was a bit mixed, but overall great. We attended a private event at the restaurant, so it may not be reflective of the standard experience. The food we tasted, including crab cakes, salmon, veggie paella, and potatoes with fingertips, was all delicious and unique. As a New Orleans native, I had lower expectations for French cuisine, but was pleasantly surprised by the bold flavors and dishes that went beyond the typical French fare expected at a restaurant named Roux. The staff was attentive in refilling our wine glasses, perhaps too much so, as we felt a bit overwhelmed by the constant offers for more wine. The food was beautiful and the wine exceptional, but the staff could benefit from some additional training in reading and addressing customer cues."
