"If you ever find yourself in Big Timber, you absolutely have to stop by Big Timber Bakery! I can't recommend it enough. We've visited three times, and it has never let us down. The staff at the bakery is truly exceptional; you can tell they cook with love, and everything is perfectly balanced. This morning, I had the cinnamon toast French toast, and it was so good that I couldn't put my fork down. My husband tried the classic omelet and was thoroughly impressed as well. In short, don't miss out on this bakery! Thank you from a very happy traveler! "

The food and service at this restaurant were excellent. The omelettes and burritos were great, and the bakery had delicious cinnamon rolls and donuts.

We love cinnamon roles and the ones that we bought here were by far the best we’d had forever! Big Timber is small, but this bakery is worth to stop for!

I stopped by for a quick snack and ended up trying the best muffin I've ever tasted! I had initially planned to get a cinnamon roll, but they were out of stock, so I chose a raspberry muffin instead, and it turned out to be amazing. If you're nearby and in the mood for some baked goods, I highly recommend checking this place out! View menu

Stopped here on our way to Red Lodge and so glad we did! Friendly and fast service and the best sandwiches we’ve had in a long time! None of that hard, thick bread that hides the other ingredients and can’t fit in your mouth! Soft, savory bread to hold the mouthwatering ingredients. I had the club, and my husband had the Turkey. We finished every delicious bite!

Lucky for us the Grand Hotel didn't serve breakfast until 8:00 so, in order to get an early start, we ventured a few doors down the street to the Big Timber Bakery. We found a wonderful atmosphere, very friendly staff and the food was great. The place was relatively crowded yet our food arrived without much wait. This is definitely a restaurant I would go back to and recommend to everyone.

"I 've stayed at the Grand on three occasions under the previous management. I used to rave about it to anyone who would listen. That was then, this is now. I arrived July 3rd with a reservation. No one was there. Just a note on the front door stating that they were closed the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of July. NO NOTICE whatsoever for guests with reservations. Just that they were closed. I was dumbfounded. My first thought was that I needed to find alternate lodging quickly. I called another motel and very nearly booked a room. A passerby suggested that I ask the owner of the shop next door. So I did, and SHE suggested I try the back door. Of course, the back door why didn 't I think of that? There was a note, in blurry ink, with a phone number to call. The young woman gave me a code for the door and the key box inside, suggesting that she had sent me texts and e mail about this arrangement. I 'd received no such text or e mail. I 'm certain if I had booked another room after being turned away AT THE FRONT DOOR by their notice, I would have been charged for the night. Wait, it gets better. Once I had brought my luggage up to my room, I changed clothes and decided to walk around town. I pulled on the doorknob, AND IT CAME OUT OF THE DOOR. The outer knob, with the bolt attached, nearly fell out into the hallway. I was essentially imprisoned in my room. I could not grab the bolt, which had slipped inside the doorknob hole, with my fingers. And NO STAFF on hand to assist me. Luckily, I carry a multitool, and with the pliers, (which would just fit I carefully pried the bolt back into the room and was able to escape. Other issues the bedside 2 bulb lamp had one bulb...and it was burned out. There appeared to be no clock available in the room (and no staff on hand to give me a wakeup call until I found it stashed in a drawer the next day. Electrical cords were plugged into a multi outlet extension cord (is that to code? I spent the rest of my stay with their amenities card slipped between the door and the latch, to prevent being imprisoned again. This used to truly be a Grand hotel, but this new management has made it a comically stereotypical backwater bidness ... will they be open when you arrive? Or will there be a gone fishin ' sign on the door? try your luck. I 'll just end this by noting that I stayed at a competently managed hotel the next night (the actual 4th of July that I entered by the FRONT door, and LAND A GOSHEN, there was an actual concierge on duty to greet me! Stay here if you choose, but be damned sure you can get out of your room when you want to."
