"Went for New Year Eve with the prix fixe menu for the first time. It's a small little tavern in Fells Point. Had good reviews in the past so I was excited to go only to find out the restaurant is very old school and not accommodating to allergies at all. I have a severe allergy to alcohol. It's a you get what you get and you'll like it kind of an attitude. I had tried to call ahead and message them on Instagram to no avail. The server was a bit abrasive about the whole thing and the food that was safe to eat was pretty mediocre. He actually told me to not write a bad review because they couldn't accommodate me. The menu was $90 and, to me, it was not worth the value. I had scallops, the soft shell crab in phyllo and the chocolate mousse. Nothing to write to home about and frankly, not good enough for this restaurant to act that pretentious. It may be time for the owner to rethink how he treats his customers in a competitive restaurant landscape in Fells Point. When other competitors in the same pricepoint go out of out their way to accommodate--Foreman Wolf made me a completely custom meal for Thanksgiving at the Charleston. Atlas gave me the personal cell phone number of the VP of Ops to contact the kitchens personally to make sure I have a good experience. Seems like they're recently getting a lot of bad reviews and the owner seems fairly rude in the responses. It's also not wheelchair accessible for anyone wondering."

The food was delicious and the service was superb. We were even waited on by Dimitri who is the owner. He was very kind and gracious to my table the entire night. Pictures is the shank lamb which falls off the bone, as well as a margarita, and this delicious ice cream. I don't know how to explain it, but the ice cream has multiple taste and textures. It was soooo good! I highly recommend you visit The Black Olive! View menu

The atmosphere was lovely. And that?s where it ended. Drinks were slow to come. And when one spilled the next one even slower. Our waitress was either new or not well trained. There was no semblance of any busing of tables. At those kind of prices (dinner for 4 $450) I expect a clean set of silverware after my appetizer. The food had no flavor. And it?s presentation Of the dishes was not appetizing. The stuffed calamari looked like a deflating balloon and tasted like rubber. The whole grilled fish was just that slapped on the plate no crispiness no flavor. We do not understand why it has 4 1/2 stars.

Okay. This is absolutely a fabulous restaurant. I can?t even begin to tell you how perfect. So I wanted to eat everything on the menu. I settled for the stuffed grilled calamari. Excellent. Perfectly prepared. I also got the whole branzino (sea bass). They filleted it tableside. It was divine. I followed dinner with a Greek coffee. Everything on the menu is made in house. I cannot wait to try everything else. The ambiance was so nice. Exposed brick, white table cloths, fresh flowers at every table, great lighting and Greek music. The service was absolutely perfect as well. My waiter was Michael. Great recommendations on the menu. I will be back on my next layover.

"Highly recommend Sweet Peaz Southern Kitchen! The food is served fresh and hot. We were a party of eight and ordered Fried Whiting with Yams and Mac n Cheese, Chicken and Waffles, Fried Chicken Wings, Chicken Tenders, Fried Shrimp, French Fries, and Collard Greens. The Sweet Potato Waffles were absolutely delicious! The fried chicken, shrimp, and fish were cooked perfectly and tasted as good as they looked. The seasoning was just right—not too salty, allowing the flavors to shine. The yams and collards were a real treat for the taste buds. And the cornbread? Simply amazing. My only disappointment was that the first taste was free (haha). The Mac n Cheese was decent, but the Chicken Tenders didn’t quite live up to their name; however, they did remake them for us to take home. The space is small and simple, with old-school music that adds to the enjoyable dining experience. They limit dining to one hour to ensure everyone can enjoy the food, which I appreciate—I dislike when people linger for too long when others are waiting. The staff were friendly, making us feel valued and appreciated. Prices are reasonable. One downside was that many items were unavailable, including grits—which was a big letdown since I was looking forward to the famous Shrimp and Grits—as well as butter, potato salad, seafood salad, and tartar sauce. I recommend calling ahead if you’re craving a specific dish. Despite this, it was a great dining choice and lived up to the positive reviews. Overall, we left satisfied and would gladly return. Parking is street parking only, as there’s no dedicated lot."
