So I have grown up in Dunlap/Sequatchie County. And the Cookie Jar is by far one of my favorite hometown places to eat at!! The staff are friendly and the food is awesome!! Keep it up guys and gals!!!

The main course was OK. The sides were not great. The desert was phenomenal. I had a carrot cake cupcake and it was moist and delicious. My server was very friendly but the front desk lady gave off a snooty vibe. Probably wouldn't go out of my way for a return visit.

They only assigned 1 waitress to a party of 12. She worked really hard but couldn’t keep up on her own. I felt sorry for her, I tipped her just the same. That was a bad manager decision. Should have had 2, maybe even 3 waitresses for a group that size. My food was good but not everybody got their meal on time or the way they ordered it. I will go back, but not with a large group. Comfort country food, in a sweet spot in the country. This is a very busy place, and I had to wait a while to get a seat. Fresh rolls or cornbread starts the meal. Catfish, meatloaf, burgers, chicken, and dumplins are your meat choices with multiple vegetables to choose as sides. Three are included with the meal. Save room for the extensive desert collection, including pie, cakes, tortes, and cupcakes. Lots of outside seating I assume is full in the summer

The staff was amazing! It was hands down THE BEST country Fried steak I've ever had. The turnip greens where mostly tough stems making me think they were canned but my girlfriend's grilled tilapia was out of this world. Free rolls were more like cakes but I'm a diabetic so I don't care for sweet things and that may have swayed my experience. 10/10 will go again with slightly adjusted expectations. Seriously.... the country fried steak was THAT good. Seriously!
