"You know you are in a good, authentic place when the food literally transports you to your grandmother's house when you were a child. The black bean soup had this fantastic combination of ingredients that I have not found anywhere but in my grandma's kitchen. That soup, by itself, was worth the trip. The sword fish appetizer was very good and the pisco sour was fantastic (I know, pisco sour is not Mexican, but in any case, it was very refreshing and perfectly mixed). Price wise, well you are in NYC ... 'nough said."

"it is from the season, but bell and anchor was busy and unaccommodating about the relocation of our reservation after minutes. frankly, our waiter was a smart guy. After our drinks had reached almost one, the appetizers came shortly. we ended the waiting times for the main courses, one of which had to be sent back because the well-made burger was rare. the host tried his best to help, but the waiter never apologized or checked with us. we no longer wanted to wait for the burger we said would be more than a few minutes, so divided one of the courts. we visited the restaurant outside the season and maybe the kitchen was simply underused, but I will not run back soon."

"There ended up being 10 of us. The hostess most gracious to combine 2 reservations and put us in large outdoor covered area adjacent to main dining room. Waitress was professional and lovely. It took a very long time to get our entrees. Over 1 hour+. Food was good but 3 of our diners did not enjoy the clams in the linguini. We were puzzled why we could not give 5 credit cards to split the bill, although we were alerted to it on the menu before we ordered. We had a good time together but the restaurant was challenged to deliver."

"I’m very disappointed in this place, and it’s a shame because their food is quite good. I love their steak tacos and their tacos in general are solid. This time we ordered the fajitas. The food was good, but I was underwhelmed overall, as was my whole party. We paid $30 per platter and ordered two platters. They brought out very few tortillas and charged extra for more. The server was rude about the whole situation and pushed back even though we were right about not getting the correct amount of tortillas that are normally served. In my opinion, you should give as many tortillas as needed to get through the amount of food you brought, otherwise what’s the point of charging $30 for the dish? Thats not really the all inclusive price. Also, each dish had a tiny bowl of rice and beans and about a tablespoon of sauce. Compare that to a giant plate of meat, how is that the “standard portion” as the server called it? Also, the peppers, onions, etc. should all be served in separate bowls. It really should be a make your own fajita dish. This place needs to make massive improvements to their portion sizes!!! Additionally, I stopped going here this past summer because I got tired of the service. I find the servers to often either be rude or straight up seem to not know what they are doing. We were the only ones in the back room of the restaurant and I had to get up three times during our visit just to ask for basic things like silverware and water refills. I saw the servers just standing around doing absolutely nothing each time. I’m done going here. The great food just is not worth the rest of the experience being so unpleasant. I do not recommend going here!"

"Atmosphere is nice. Coffee beverages are usually good. Lots of items are overpriced. Employees are not greeting the guests with even a little smile. We visit this place quite often. More than once they did not have toilet paper and soap in their restroom. When I brought this to an employee’s attention, her reaction was as if it was not a big deal. Well, I believe it is a big deal. This makes their hygienic conditions and rules questionable. Food: 3"
