"I had previously reviews this when it was Dan Diegos. I drive by it regularly and saw the name change to The Pub and kept telling my husband we needed to go to see what if any changes had been made. We came by on a Saturday, in the early evening. We sat on the patio and saw the QR codes to get the menu but when looking at the menu thought that surely there was more? I saw menus at the hostess stand and grabbed a few. Sadly there was just not the selection there once had been. I ended up getting my old standby fish and chips and my husband got the same but with shrimp (shrimp were breaded and fried . Kidlet got chicken nuggets with fries. The nuggets came with ranch (is this a thing people dipping nuggets in ranch?! . I asked for bbq and was given some which my kid proclaimed the best bbq sauce ever. Come to find out it is her favorite bbq sauce Sweet Baby Ray 's. Was disappointed when I looked at the itemized receipt a week later to see we were charged .25 for bbq. It is a quarter but I would have appreciated knowing it was an up charge. Or why couldn 't the server have asked it comes with ranch for dipping is that ok? I would have said no requested bbq sauce and saved some money and ranch that no one ate. My favorite adult beverage the craic punch was gone (insert sobs here so I had a rose. Husband had stromalo cider. We used to get the bread pudding with whiskey sauce but after seeing all the changes we decided to leave. Total $61.15 (cider $7.50, fish and chips $18 x 2, kids meal $5, rose $8, bbq .25 . While I can 't say I will never be back, I can say that it won 't be the go to place it had been for us for years and I will have my memories of Dan Diego 's and all the family and friends we brought there."

The more I read about food poisoning the less sure I am I got it from this place. I guess sometimes it takes like 72 hours to incubate. I'll add to my initial review

Been coming here since the soft opening many years ago. So many good things to say about this place. Happy that they have been able to provide amazing food constantly and get better.

This place has had my heart for years. Formerly Dan Diego's, the Pub has great happy hours and amazing home cooked food. I will keep coming and supporting the local community at the Pub in Bay Park. Keep up the good work! I can not wait to go back for a Rueben on their rye bread! So dank! View menu

The Pub is a welcoming and laid-back bar with an Irish-inspired menu. The service is both friendly and efficient, and they offer several TVs for major sporting events. You can enjoy table service both indoors and outdoors, and there's plenty of parking available. On my recent visit, I ordered the Ploughman's plate, which included a bowl of stew, a loaf of Irish soda bread, and cheddar cheese. The stew was delightful—home-cooked and full of flavor. The bread was also fantastic. This was my second time at The Pub, and I definitely plan to return.

It's always a pleasure to spend time with good friends at the pub. Whether it's after a rugby match or an evening of poetry and pipes for Burns Night (though the poet and piper couldn't make it this time), we always receive courteous and attentive service from Patty and her staff. Not to mention, the food and drinks are fantastic. This visit was no exception, as we enjoyed an authentic four-course Irish dinner. We had a wonderful evening with friends on the patio, warmed by a tabletop fire. There was also live music and a basketball game on the television for those interested. I can't wait for the next opportunity to return. Cheers!

The service was excellent, and the beer was fantastic. The bartender was knowledgeable about her offerings, which is becoming quite rare. The prices were also very reasonable. However, I wouldn't recommend coming here for a meal (unless you've had a few drinks). The maple carrots turned out to be nothing more than corn syrup and were undercooked. I ordered my burger medium rare, but it arrived well done and oddly crumbly. It lacked the moisture a good burger should have. Usually, when you think about a meal the next day, it’s because you're excited to return. Today, I’m still annoyed about how disappointing my dinner was last night. View menu

Food was excellent. Enjoyed the sampling of Irish breakfast with sausage, potatoes, Irish bread, Irish bacon and fluffy scrambled eggs with side beans. First time having Irish breakfast as be was so good. Chicken and waffles was equally good. Chicken was moist and the waffle with it was great with the drizzled syrup. The wedge salad had crispy onions in addition to the bacon with fresh cherry tomatoes and blue cheese. It was a perfect Easter brunch. We enjoyed everything. Had a casual vibe and their restroom was clean. Customer service was on point. Always checked on us and refilled our water glasses. Nice little pub on bay park area close to Mission Bay. Definitely will be returning here.

My partner and I have been coming here for years now and the food never disappoints. Service and can be spotty here, so make sure to ask your server for what you need up front, because it can be hard to track them down again. However, the food makes up for the service. Some of our favorites here are the fried chicken, garlic fries, and peach cobbler. The garlic fries are super crispy and well seasoned. The peach cobbler is also baked fresh to order in a six inch circular tin, big enough for two people to share. I tried the spinach artichoke dip recently and that was also great- it's very rich and filling. Everything is super fresh here so you should expect a longer wait than most places. Whi...
