"Dwight's is a well-known restaurant in St. Albans. This restaurant is known for its local cuisine, is a mother and pop spot that is very popular. This restaurant was opened in 1993. In the 50s our family restaurants were called Adkins Fat Boy, after Mike's grandfather Benny Adkins. The first Dwights were opened in 1963 by Mike's father Dwight Messinger. Our family began in 1950 as a simple restaurant. Mike is now the third generation of a family that primarily owns mother and pop restaurants. Over the years we have many, many restaurants, but today there is only a Dwights restaurant in operation. Our restaurant is small with only sixteen tables, but our goal remains to offer our customers a good meal at a reasonable price. However, this does not mean that we compromise the quality. On the contrary, we guarantee the freshness of our ingredients and prepare everything exactly as you like it. We are a family restaurant with a tradition in food quality. We strive to preserve a fantastic culinary tradition. Our homemade sandwiches and burgers are for us a house we want to preserve for the next generation. (ABOUT)"

The food is great. The staff is friendly. They are always so busy. (Which is a great sign, but can sometimes make it hard to get a table)

Maybe it was a fuke. I love this place. Last time I had breakfast pork chop and it was so hard that it wasn't possible! Slept for the dogs.

The food is excellent, and I absolutely love dining there! The owner is a wonderful person—always friendly and takes the time to chat with you. I would give it a perfect 10! View menu

It's not upscale, but it's incredibly tasty! While the atmosphere might not be the most beautiful or the cleanest, I have to say, they serve the best steak sandwich I've ever had!

The food is excellent, but late night the drunks come in and destroy the atmosphere for everyone else, sometimes with verbal battles and fights. Mgmt does nothing about these spoilers.

Hidden Gem. Dwight's is probably one of the best treasures in the Kanawha Valley, 24-7 no matter what you want you have a place to get it. The chicken livers, turkey and dressing, ruben sandwich, all of it is just so good. This is one restraunt that I recommend to anyone looking for good home-cooked comfort food that wont break the bank!! View menu

Great breakfast. Love Dwights. Great place for breakfast, which is separated 24 hours a day. The Ma-Maw's Omelet always loved me until my son convinced me to try the Tex-Mex Omelet. My husband loves the Husky Steak Sandwich. Daily specials have, Thursday night is pinto beans and fried pork chops. Often a steak and shrimp has dinner which is very good.

Not too bad. This place is your typical 24-hour diner, located in what was formerly a Lee's Famous Recipe chicken restaurant. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the menu offers a wide variety of dishes at quite reasonable prices. The quality of the food can fluctuate significantly depending on who’s in the kitchen. However, it’s one of the few late-night dining options in St. Albans, making it worth a visit.

"Highlights: great boneless wings, house-cut fries and sweet tea. The shrimp is lightly breaded, lacking seasoning and not crispy. I feel that the shrimp poboy 6pc)$15 is overpriced for the quality and taste. I can spend less and get a much tastier shrimp poboy that comes with tomatoes and a hot side for a lower price elsewhere. ... It was our first time at Shuckers on a Friday night at 6:45pm. There are maybe 50 tables and probably 75% seated. Before we came we looked on their website for the menu. We walked in and were immediately seated by our server who served drinks right away. My partner's sweet tea $2.99) was excellent, not too sweet. I always order water but the water here had a bad aftertaste. We ordered Appetizers: boneless wings $6.99 6pc)and fried cheese sticks $7.99. The cheese sticks were not hot and gooey where the hot cheese stretches after you take a bite Try the best ones at Redline Diner). The boneless wings were great, perfectly crispy. I tried the shuck'n hot wing flavor which was mild to medium spicy and sweet, no vinegar taste. The ranch dip is house made but not as good as most house-made ranch. My entree was a shrimp poboy $14.99). There were 6 medium shrimp that were lightly breaded and not crispy, and not seasoned enough. It was topped with shredded lettuce and sweet tartar sauce not remoulade as stated in the menu). It would have been better with tomatoes. It came with kettle potato chips or sub fries for $2 more). My partner ordered the shrimp dinner $17.99 9pc medium) with side salad shredded lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion), 2 hushpuppies and house-cut fries that are not crispy but delicious. These shrimp were the same that were on my poboy and my partner agreed that they were disappointing. I feel that the shrimp poboy is way overpriced for the quality and taste of the food. I can spend less and get a much tastier shrimp poboy that comes with tomatoes and a hot side for a lower price Try Tricky Fish). We had a great server. We plan to come back to try the stuffed shells, fried zucchini and chili cheese fries, and the brunch menu on Saturday. We didn't have dessert but in addition to the desserts listed they also have regular and pumpkin cheesecake"
