"Decided to stop by Fresh Wood Fired Pizza and Pasta in Black Mountain on our way home this evening. Ordered two to go meals. We ordered, told to wait 25 minutes. Walked across the street to “Lookout Brewery “ for a nice cold one. Went back after our 25 minute wait. They could not find our order. Waited another 20. Got home, only two exits down. Pasta was cold and was missing the side salad. My wife’s salad was missing the pita bread. Put my giant CLUMP of Pasta Carbonara in a bowl to warm. It was cold!! And found 30 mls of a buttery oily substance in my bowl. It was HORRIBLE and unpalatable !!!! Honestly I’ve had MRE’s that tasted better!!! I Literally measured 30 cc of an oily substance when I moved the pasta to the side. I Could not enjoy even two bites!!!! Gave it to the dog!!! Pics available on request."

As a local I really want to support this business because the food is great—when you can get it. Twice now have had major issues. The first time I tried calling, repeatedly, for take out and no one would pick up the phone. No online ordering option. The second time we decided to dine in on a Monday night and while they sat us with menus, after 20 minutes of no service, yet they waited on the people who sat after us, we left. Frustrating to say the least.

Pita Nachos are amazing and something everyone has to try at least once. The different pizzas they make are really great flavor combos and you can tell they care about the quality of their food. These are definitely more the artisan style woodfire pizza with the thinner crust and not smothered in cheese, so if you 're looking for a replacement for Dominos, this won 't be it for you. But if you love traditional woodfire pizza with creative and delicious flavors, you 'll be happy to have stopped here.
