"This review is based on my first and only visit to the Bar One restaurant. I had a reservation for 10 pm for a party of 4. When my party walked in, we stood at the front desk and waited to be seated as you normally would. The staff walked past us for 15 minutes and no one asked to help us or anything. Finally, Peter (the owner) greeted us and had one of the staff members take us to a table. When we sat at the table, 15 minutes passed before the waitress brought 4 glasses of water. After that, she walked off without taking any other drink orders. Another 15 minutes passed before we received a menu. So far, we are sitting at the table for 45 minutes waiting for a waitress to take our food and drink order. Finally, the waitress comes to our table 10 minutes later to take our order. It took almost an HOUR to receive service to take our food orders. Then they ran out of the side items that we wanted. It was close to 11 pm by this time, so we just ordered the salmon bites, calamari, and salad for appetizers and a curry chicken entree. The look and taste of the food was subpar, mediocre, and nothing to write home about. The location and ambiance are okay. The staff needs to improve their customer service. There are so many better restaurant/bar options in Baltimore that I would never recommend this place for dinner or drinks. This was the worst restaurant that I have visited in Baltimore."

I had reservations for 7:45pm on Father's Day at Bar One. They had sent me an email to confirm my reservation, but when I arrived at 7:30 p.m., I found out that they were closed because they had not renewed their liquor license. This ruined my Father's Day celebration and I had to scramble to find another restaurant. This was a very disappointing and unprofessional business practice. View menu

The ambiance is AMAZING. It’s a true vibe. The issue is staffing. They were severely understaffed for a Friday night. Meals were delayed from the kitchen and there were no servers. The menu looked appealing, but the meal was blah. The fish wasn’t hot and the veggies drowned in butter. The concept is wonderful, but they need a Gordon Ramsey makeover. I hope they can get going. Once the kinks are gone, I can see this place being amazing.

I recently dined at Bar One in Miami and it was fantastic. The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch. I decided to visit the one in Baltimore, but unfortunately, I may have chosen the wrong day. I imagine weekdays are much smoother, but on a bustling Saturday night, the staff seemed unable to keep up. It took 40 minutes for us to receive our drinks, and we had only ordered soft drinks. When the food eventually arrived, everything appeared and tasted overcooked. I will not be returning on a busy night in the future.

I had a reservation for my birthday, when I arrived, the restaurant was dark/closed/locked up due to an emergency. I never received an email, text, nor call from management saying that my reservation wouldn’t/couldn’t be honored. We got dressed up, drove all the way there in rush hour traffic, and had to pay for parking. The restaurant has strict rules if you are late to your reservation or if you don’t show, but they don’t use the same courtesy to the patrons. Just purely unprofessional. By the way, it’s been 3 weeks, and still no one has reached out. View menu

I truly do not know where to begin. All that I can say is Bar One Baltimore is the ultimate experience. The ambience of the environment is absolutely stunning. The host “ Sanita “ was phenomenal she continually checked on me she was very beautiful as was our waitress “ Sacoya” I apologize if I misspelled the ladies names) the food was amazing. The music was universal. It was relevant in all genres. The food was plentiful and delicious. Lastly I was blown away when Peter Thomas himself came to wish me a Happy Birthday My God I almost fainted he was extremely pleasant and smells delectable.

I made a reservation at this restaurant but my special requests were not honored. We waited over 10 minutes at the reception desk before a patron had to flag down staff to assist us. We waited in the lounge for over 10 minutes and no one offered to take our drink order. I had to approach the half-empty bar and wait over 5 minutes to get the attention of the staff. It felt uncomfortable and like I was bothering them just to be seated. The table provided was too small for our party of four so we requested an upgrade in size. It took 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive and they were out of most of the food items we wanted. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and we ended up leaving...

"Highly recommend Sweet Peaz Southern Kitchen! The food is served fresh and hot. We were a party of eight and ordered Fried Whiting with Yams and Mac n Cheese, Chicken and Waffles, Fried Chicken Wings, Chicken Tenders, Fried Shrimp, French Fries, and Collard Greens. The Sweet Potato Waffles were absolutely delicious! The fried chicken, shrimp, and fish were cooked perfectly and tasted as good as they looked. The seasoning was just right—not too salty, allowing the flavors to shine. The yams and collards were a real treat for the taste buds. And the cornbread? Simply amazing. My only disappointment was that the first taste was free (haha). The Mac n Cheese was decent, but the Chicken Tenders didn’t quite live up to their name; however, they did remake them for us to take home. The space is small and simple, with old-school music that adds to the enjoyable dining experience. They limit dining to one hour to ensure everyone can enjoy the food, which I appreciate—I dislike when people linger for too long when others are waiting. The staff were friendly, making us feel valued and appreciated. Prices are reasonable. One downside was that many items were unavailable, including grits—which was a big letdown since I was looking forward to the famous Shrimp and Grits—as well as butter, potato salad, seafood salad, and tartar sauce. I recommend calling ahead if you’re craving a specific dish. Despite this, it was a great dining choice and lived up to the positive reviews. Overall, we left satisfied and would gladly return. Parking is street parking only, as there’s no dedicated lot."
