"With in-person dining suspended, the kind of containers restaurants use has taken on a new importance for those of us trying to minimize our environmental footprint. We really appreciate Gurkhas’ use of all compostable containers. They asked us if we needed cutlery and did not include it per our request. Unlike some other reviewers’ experience, we have found them to be very knowledgeable about vegan options, even saying on the phone that they would omit the mint chutney for our samosas but include the dairy-free tamarind. Our receipt clearly showed the no dairy instructions to the kitchen, and they can sub coconut milk for dairy in most dishes. This may be our new go-to spot in town after Flavor of India sent us an order of meat samosas."

We went out exploring and were delighted with our nice dinner at Gurkhas Restaurant. The food quality was outstanding and we highly recommend it. It's a cozy neighborhood spot located in Gunbarrel. Just a note, the medium spice level was a bit too spicy for us, so proceed with caution.

This was my 3rd dining experience at Gurkhas. The food is interesting: Nepali cuisine is clearly influenced by Chinese Indian cuisine. I enjoyed the Momo dumplings and the Chicken Tikka Masala with some Naan. All were good but not amazing. I wanted to enjoy a beer with my meal but they don't have their license yet.

We love Indian cuisine and have eaten in Indian restaurants all over the U.S. and Europe. Gurkhas is one of the best we’ve found anywhere. The sauces, meats, naan and rice are prepared to perfection. The quality and quantity of food you get is a great value. We ate at the restaurant twice in one week before writing the review so that I could comment on the consistency. The spice level was exactly the same both times and the food comes out fresh and hot. Nothing negative to say about our experience.

This place is so good I went two days in a row! The first day I got a delicious sautéed chili momo dish which was unlike anything I’ve had before I got the pork) and the masala chow chow which was soooo good. The next day I got the goat curry which was excellent and we also got the butter chicken and garlic cheese naan $1 up-charge). They also have a local beer for only $3 a can, love it here!!!
