"A MUST after a long and HOT day at the beach. This is a local favorite and quickly became one of ours too! They sell everything from donuts, cookies, and brownies, to shakes, floats, and classic sundaes to frappes, and other drinks. Staff was welcoming and friendly. They accept cashless payments. No parking at this location so we parked across the street and walked. They have limited indoor and outdoor seating. Inside they also have arcade games, which is a fun way to stay a little longer to enjoy the A/C! In a town where almost everything closes at 8/9pm, Island Scoops is open till 10pm on the weekends!"

Reviews were pretty good; however, after waiting in line for about 20 minutes we noticed both employees were not wearing gloves but were handling the money and scooping ice cream. It is definitely a turn off when you see their bare hands coming into contact with the ice cream after touching the machine that all customers touch as well. They did give us free donuts that they would have had to throw away before close, so they get a bonus star for that. View menu

We specifically came to this ice cream shop for dairy-free ice cream for my daughter that has a milk allergy. While the employee offered to wash the scoop, there was clearly other ice cream on the top of the tub of the one choice of dairy-free. It would've put my daughter in the hospital had she eaten it. The employee had already scooped it when thankfully, my daughter noticed. He did remove it from our total bill. He was nice about it but obviously not allergy aware.

I visited this restaurant after seeing a picture of a delicious-looking cheesecake on Yelp. However, when I asked about it, no one knew what I was referring to and they denied it was their picture. In the end, I settled for some ice cream, which they did have a wide variety of flavors to choose from. My group tried five different items and everyone enjoyed their selections. I later noticed that the misleading picture had been removed, which is a positive step to prevent confusion for future customers.
