"The food was presented nicely and cleanly. But it was not as tasty as expected. Once I started eating it (curried shrimp), the overwhelming taste of turmeric and black pepper discouraged me from finishing the meal.I will try something else in the future and update the review because, as my friend pointed out to me, all curries are not the same. Every caribbean country has their unique blends and style. The service was good and prompt. The pricing is fair, in my opinion as the portions are generous.Small take out restaurant with Jamaican food and desserts."

The oxtail dish was bland, the rice was overcooked, and the red velvet dessert tasted like medicine.

Barbecue Chicken was dry and white rice was over cooked, and Curry Chicken meal rice was crunchy. The Curry Goat was okay.

Food is very very good ? ?Its a Jamaican spot. So, no trini drinks or home made cakes. Just beware, they count how many oxtail they put in your plate. View menu

I ordered the curry chicken with rice and peas and plantains, and it tasted like a home-cooked meal. It was delicious and I will definitely order it again.

I have been living around the area and finally popped in and wasn’t disappointed! Place is clean! I got the oxtail and carrot cake. Both were absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend!?

Don't bother ordering from this restaurant.Rice was very old, oxtails were hard.Their cake was super hard like they've had it there for a week.Don't recommend. The other reviews alone should let you know. View menu

The Curry Goat was delicious, very tender and flavorful. I would definitely order it again. However, the Oxtail was not as good, lacking in flavor compared to other places I've tried. The portion size of the meat was generous, but the taste was disappointing. The rice and peas could have also been improved.

In the middle of Newark you don't find much amazing food. This place blew my mind! Jamaicans are known for their curry goat, ox tail, and more, but what blew my mind was the veggie stew! This is now my go to spot for Jamaican food. The staff made sure to let me know that their special ingredient was love and from the taste you can tell they use a generous helping of it. Don't cheat yourself give Jamicons a chance and your mouth and belly will thank you.

"On Wednesday 12/06 I went to Banzai Sushi, I have never received such bad service in my life… Every time I remember my experience, I get angry, the waitress is rude and has a horrible attitude! It's a shame because the food there is wonderful, but the service is so SO BAD that I lost my appetite. When I got there, there was some water spilled on the table, she took my stepfather's DIRTY NAPKIN to clean it and just left it there. When I asked for things she responded with an ignorant, rude tone. My partner doesn't eat any type of animal protein other than shrimp. So we asked if we could replace the salmon with shrimp in a poke, she checked in the kitchen and said everything was fine. When she came back, I placed my order and she was doing something at the other table, but said to continue because she was listening….my partner also talking about swapping salmon for shrimp at the end and the waitress replies “so it's not like that at all what you want, is something different” and simply left leaving us talking to the wall. When our order arrived, my order came out wrong. I called her and she simply replied “BUT ALSO, WITH HER MAKING ALL THIS MESS WITH SALMON AND SHRIMP…”, sorry, but for me that was the end of the bite. It's okay to get the order wrong, I know it happens, but blaming the customer? Every time she passed by our table I saw her making faces and looking at the kitchen. I thought it was a huge lack of respect, we are paying customers. On top of that, it also includes a 15% tip. Normally, if I receive good service, I will give 20%, after all, I work in customer service and value professionals in my field. And if the service was just bad, I wouldn't bother coming here to report it... But it was horrible"
