"Definitely go for the chicken pot pie for dinner. A light flaky crust, clearly hand made onto the serving bowl was an excellent touch. There was lots of chicken, peas and carrots with a nice sauce. This is great comfort food. The clam chowder and burgers were good too. I also liked the fried calamari with a flavorful tomato based sauce with a little kick to it, bu not too much. Fresh locally made beer on tap is another huge plus. A friend and I brought our sons before going to a college hockey game. Everyone was full and happy. The scene is very loud, with lots of activity perfect to entertain our 12 year old boys."

Server recommended meatloaf was ineatible. If I were to go back, I would order a burger or nachos .

One of my favorite places in Cambridge! It's great for sitting with groups. I just wish there were more options for dietary drinks.

The interior has a wonderfully vintage feel, featuring exposed brick walls. The portion sizes are generous, and the food is delicious. However, I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t offer a beer flight. View menu

There's a lot of space! The interior is nice and cozy, with quick service and polite staff. They offer a wide variety of beers and a selection of delicious bar food. Plus, they even have a round table for larger groups.

as soon as our waitress noticed us (10 minutes) the food and drinks were fast. the waitress forgot our requested waters and never made eye contact to get their attention to drink more (I had to scream over the restaurant.)

This is my go-to spot when I'm with a group of friends. The beers are great, they have a full bar with reasonably priced drinks, and the food is excellent! What's best is the service... every server has been welcoming, patient, and gets our orders perfectly. View menu

This is one of the best bars I've been to in Boston. It’s located right next to Harvard University and offers a wide selection of locally brewed beers in addition to the usual options. The grilled sandwiches are fantastic. When you walk in, you get a charming blend of rustic and classy ambiance. They frequently host fun activities like karaoke nights and live music events.

My partner and I went to JH's for a date, and we had a great time! One of the two cocktails was spectacular (the second, rum-based one) while the other, a Dark and Stormy, was OK. My partner's food was over-peppered, but she sent it back and the over-peppered fish was comped and she got another order of the same, no pepper. The server got us a nice, quiet table, which was great for just having an evening to ourselves. Thank you!

"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."
