"We started with appetizers, sharing the Grilled Octopus and the Cold Spread Sampler, both of which were delicious. The Skordalia was packed with garlic, and I couldn't resist slathering it on my bread. For our entrees, we each chose something different. My husband enjoyed the Moussaka, while the Kalamata Dinner, which features a combination of five dishes, offered a delightful variety, leaving us with leftovers for lunch the next day. The Gyro plate was a hit, too; my companion devoured it without sharing any. I was particularly impressed by the Grilled Vegetable Shish-Kabob, which was beautifully presented, and the veggies were perfectly cooked and seasoned—definitely something I'll order next time since I love vegetables. The Chicken Shish-Kabob also looked impressive, and we took home leftovers from that as well. As for my Grilled Chicken Breast, it was a tad dry, which is typical for chicken breasts, but the rice topped with homemade tomato sauce was worth every carb, even for a diabetic like me. We couldn't resist desserts either. The baklava was the best I've ever had, and we also tried the lemon bar, chocolate mousse cake, and Galaktoboureko (a custard-like dessert). We almost licked the plates clean! Would I recommend Kalamata Kitchen? Absolutely, yes! We definitely plan to dine there again."

Very pretty on the inside. Good vibes and ambiance. Food was good and drinks were great. Looks like the owner was the only one working that night I went and he did a great job getting orders out in a timely manner.

It is a nice restaurant, clean and neat, it has a romantic style that I liked! The service was great, they gave us bread with butter as an entry, and the food was very good in portion and taste, I think it is a good place to eat.

Please be cautious, as the prices listed on the menu do not match what you will actually be charged. While the food is flavorful, the canned peas and reheated potatoes leave much to be desired. I doubt I will return to this restaurant. View menu

The food was delicious and service was great. Only thing I didn't like and made me so uncomfortable was the manager working behind the bar yelling at the waitress in front off customers. My feelings was so hurt to see the waitress get yelled at was hurtful and embarrassing.

On a perfectly pleasant evening, my young waiter Gregory served me a Greek salad and grilled octopus appetizer outside with a glass of wine. The price for my appetizer wasn't listed on the menu. I was shocked when I got the bill for my $21 appetizer. I won't be back; even for Oak Park this is unreasonable pricing.

This place was beyond expectations! My husband is Greek and very particular about his Greek food. “ I love this place”. The ingredients were garden Fresh! Not frozen fresh. Nikky, our server and cousin of owner, verified all food was hand made, fresh with loving care from authentic recipes from Greece. The portions were larger than any other restaurant. We will bring our Greek relatives here. View menu

What exactly is this place? Is it a sports bar, a fine dining restaurant, or simply a training ground for staff before they move on? We decided to order takeout without checking any reviews. When I arrived to pick up our order, the bartender was apologizing to a woman in front of me about the wait. After I gave my name, she informed me that the kitchen was backed up. To be fair, the restaurant was relatively empty for a Friday night. However, my food was ready within 10 minutes of that update. It was good—not outstanding, but decent. The calamari could have used a little more flavor; it was fine, but nothing to rave about. Still, it’s enough to warrant this review, I suppose.

I went to Kalamata with my mother (Wed. August, 9) and ordered the lamb riblets. I asked them to be well-done, not burnt please . When I received my meal, it was severely burnt. I didn 't complain because we didn 't want any trouble and was willing to pay but the waiter felt that we should 've been compensated. He offered us a free Baklava and we said that wasn 't necessary but he insisted. We eventually said yes but the chef said since we ate what we could; he wasn 't giving us anything free. He insinuated that we were seeking free food when we made it clear money wasn 't an issue; we didn 't even want the free Baklava at first. The chef even put the young waiter in a situation where he off...

"Italian restaurant in Elmwood Park, that's been around for decades. Good food , nice ambience and good service! The Italian bread and dip( parmesan cheese mixed with olive oil and a little pepper flakes) are goooood! For appetizers I started with 1/2 dozen Baked Clams- Whole littleneck clams on the half shell, topped with seasoned breadcrumbs, fresh herbs, garlic, , they were on the smaller side which I assume maybe because they're not in season- they were ok, I'll pass on these next time then I also ordered the Pasta Fagioli soup, which is Cannellini beans, small tubular pasta, and plum tomatoes in a light savory tomato broth with garlic and olive oil, very GOOD! You must try this !! Annnnnd I also ordered the Caprese Salad-thick sliced tomatoes, bocconcini cheese, and fresh basil drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar You can never go wrong with a caprese salad and here it's very good too So for dinner I chose the Rigatoni pasta with crumbled spicy sausage, tomato, and marjoram in a creamy sauce topped with parmesan. And let me tell you, this was a winner for me! my dinner partner ordered the Salmon Lemon Butter W/Spinach- Salmon fillet in a lemon butter sauce, served with sauted spinach.. omg this was SOOO good. A must to order it you like good Salmon !! To finish we ordered the in house made canoli- which was good too but the winner had to be the Lemon sorbet... nice and refreshning after a great meal! They just recently started opening for breakfast so I'll definately be coming back to try that out and give a review of that in the near future! Buon Appetito !!"
