"Aloha to everyone out there reading this review. As I am a HUGE fan of Hawaiian BBQ, I stumbled across this family owned and operation business in the Greenhaven/Pocket area of Sacramento. This is none other than Hawaiian Boys BBQ (formerly known as Kings BBQ). Located directly on Florin Rd. and adjacent to S. Land Park Dr., this place has been opened since September 2020. I met up with one of my good friends here for lunch at 12:30pm on the afternoon of 9/3/2021. Fortunately, indoor seating was allowed amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Since I am no stranger to Hawaiian food, I had a pretty good idea what I wanted to order. This was none other than their most popular entrée, the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken complete with a side of brown rice, spinach salad, and an orange wedge. My buddy ordered a Hawaiian classic, their Loco Moco which included two hamburger patties, two fried eggs, gravy, and a side of macaroni salad steamed veggies. Since they were not too busy during our visit, both our orders were prepared and ready in less than 10 minutes. While I enjoyed the amount of marinated chicken in my entrée, the sauce part was just a little too salty for me. I know adding salt always adds flavor to food but this had just a little too much. My friend also loved how big his Loco Moco was but again, he complained of too much salt in the gravy. This was not a deal breaker but I hope the balance of seasonings is made more efficiently. As many people in the Sacramento area know, we have very well-known and popular Hawaiian BBQ places that many of us go to; mainly L L and Ono which has multiple locations. This place just didn 't do it for me; the service was great and prices are around the same amount as their competition. But I don 't think I will be returning here anytime soon; every though they 're 5 minutes from work. My rating for Hawaiian Boys BBQ , just an average 3- stars."

They close at 8p, but stop taking orders at 730p. They should update their operating hours.

Rude staff upon entry. Won't be coming back. They gave me the wrong order as well and the order I got was something I don't eat. Definitely a waste of money

I've eaten here several times and the food is good. However the wait time for fast food should never be 40 minutes. Probably won't be going back anytime soon. View menu

My family ordered Hawaiian Boys for pickup. We called it in and they texted when the order was ready. I shared the mix bbq plate and it was delicious. The meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful. Mac salad and rice were standard, but I appreciate that they give you some steamed veggies too. Overall, definitely better than L&L!

Food is not fresh. I ordered the fish and shrimp plate with an order of musubi. I waited 10 minutes as my order was prepared . All my food was completely cold, the spam in the musubi was old, cold and completely dehydrated and overbearing with rice. The place looked much better than the quality of food. Terrible disappointment .

Im so accustomed to LnL i don't really try other Hawaiian places. I noticed this restaurant use to be Kings catering so i stopped in, and ordered a bbq chicken and chicken katsu. You can't go wrong with the katsu it was fried perfectly and the mac salad complimented it very well. I like consistency and the flavor. Will be returning whenever craving Hawaiian food : View menu

Every time I try to come here, they're closed. I have been trying to come for a few months now. Online, it says they are open but when you show up they are not. I recently went on 2/18/22 and there is a sign on the door that states they are closed until further notice. They should really update their hours online and say they are Temporarily Closed so people would stop wasting gas.

Nah. Too many shortcomings. First the good. The filling in the Crab Rangoon was the best and crabtacular ? est I've had, to include thousand dollar tab places in L.A. and the S.F. bay area. The ... dough ? around them was just off, to the point of being wrong. I think this was a frozen, pre made product; maybe there's something they can do to improve the preparation that will make it more pleasant. There was no customary red dipping sauce with the Crab Rangoon a final note of disappointment. The burger was obviously also a premade patty, and apart from the bun, was sub mediocre. The bun was really a unique, soft, fresh variation on the usual theme oh, it was the one thing that separated this...
