"Small hidden diner overlooking Lake Erie. I thought we would really be sitting overlooking some water, but it 's more looking through a window at the lake, adding in the not so pretty contributing atmosphere such as chipped hand rails, overgrown landscape, and fencing. After reading the other reviews I thought, ok, service is slow but I 've got a hour so things should be good.. I mean, it 's breakfast . The one waitress was very very friendly, but spent extra time talking with what I assume to be locals which delayed any service to other customers. She also had one speed, even as she got busier. The food was excellent when it finally arrived, 15 minutes before I had to go. The home potatoes with onions were fabulous. Steak was over cooked, but had good flavor.,The prices were affordable and very fair. They had tables that were sectioned off for social distance, and an obviously close gentleman friend came and sat in one to wait for a to go order, and he was not asked to move. I think I 'd describe it as a diner used to serving the residents of its community, which puts any new guests on the back burner. I would say might come again, maybe set more time aside to wait.. maybe not. I think if the waitress was more concerned with all her customers over jiving with the locals, things would have been perfect."

We celebrated my dad's 79th birthday at this charming little restaurant. The food was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly.

I highly recommend this hidden gem—definitely a 10 out of 10! The view is stunning, and the service is amazing. Our server was incredibly kind and made sure we were well taken care of. They also have my favorite hot sauce, and the prices are quite reasonable.

This is a cozy little restaurant that could benefit from a bit more cleanliness, but the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. Honestly, where else can you enjoy prime rib and sides with a stunning lakefront view for just $17? View menu

Although the restaurant may seem like a hidden gem, the food is truly five-star quality. The views of Lake Erie are excellent as well. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Cleveland, OH. It's located just 5 miles west of downtown, and the drive is absolutely worth it. Be sure to check it out!

I had a great lunch at this restaurant, which has a charming, old-fashioned mom-and-pop vibe and offers a lovely view of the lake. Our server, Patrick, was outstanding—super friendly, attentive, and personable. As someone following a gluten-free diet, I noticed that the selection for gluten-free options was somewhat limited, but there were a few choices available. Overall, it's a fantastic place with a pleasant atmosphere.

This is a fantastic spot for breakfast, especially when you're with new friends. During my visit to Lakewood, I discovered this charming breakfast place. They serve delicious home-cooked meals at reasonable prices. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the view of Lake Erie was simply amazing. Our waitress even made sure the kids received their breakfast first, showing great consideration. Two thumbs up for her thoughtfulness! View menu

This place is a hidden gem. As I write this, I hesitate only because our glowing review could end up having too many people waiting to get in including my girlfriend S. and I, but it is what it is, super. Why, starting with great and pleasant wait staff, Rita, Patrick and Hannah who have served us breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food was great, hot, tasty and plenty. If you are okay with diner atmosphere, with a view of the lake, this is the place any day. We plan to return very soon.

The name is quite misleading as it gives the impression of a charming, rustic cabin by the water, next to an ancient lighthouse. In reality, the restaurant is tucked away at the back of a plain apartment building, making it difficult to find. Although the lake is nearby, you really have to squint to catch a glimpse of it. However, once you're inside, it turns out to be a delightful experience. The service can be slow, but that adds to the overall charm. If you're in a hurry, this place isn't for you. There's an outdoor patio that brings you a bit closer to the water, but it doesn't seem to get much use.

"1 year update: My favorite restaurant, being a Lakewood local. Best joint around, hands down. The owner Vince Chere who will probably greet you are just amazing people. Come here, you won't regret it. Celiac safe too! Chere the one who took my order today and Vince, the owner, are AMAZING. I have Celiac disease so eating out can be hard and frustrating because not only my allergy to gluten but gluten free food that has been cross contaminated with food that does have gluten (shared surfaces, shared deep fryers, pans utensils et cetera) but NOT AT ZEST! Even though they are not a dedicated gluten free restaurant both Chere and Vince went out of their way to tell me what was safe (pretty much everything) and not only what was safe but how they were going to prepare it to make it safe, giving me peace of mind. I got the Pork Chop off the dinner menu and it was AMAZING! Zest is a small cozy place, bar, with great outdoor seating and a nice breakfast setting. Next time I'm trying breakfast and next dinner a GF Pizza. After this amazing first experience I'll be back again and again, probably tomorrow! If you're looking for well priced high quality food, Zest is it. Got celiac disease or on a GF diet? Zest is the best. Support this small business and enjoy some amazing food, service, and conversation. EDIT FOR SECOND MEAL EXPERIENCE Got the Buffalo Slider with truffle fries they used corn starch instead of flour just for my allergy, and fried in a separate pan. Amazing burger, HUGE too. Picture makes the burger look boring and fries look weird (mostly due to the cornstarch) but trust me that is the way it should look because it's the best GF buffalo burger I've ever had."
