Made In Italy Bistro

Genuinely authentic Italian cuisine! A fantastic addition to Thousand Oaks! We enjoyed enormous blue prawns, eggplant Parmesan, sushi-grade ahi, and grilled branzino. Each dish was exactly as described and delicious, but the branding was simply the best!

One of the best Italian restaurants I've dined at outside of Italy. The prosciutto? Amazing. The burrata? Perfect. The pasta? Delicious. The dessert? I could have had more. The bread? Yum. The service? Professional and friendly. The wine list? That's the only area for improvement.

The food is excellent, which is why I'll be returning. The only downside to such great cooking is that the restaurant can get quite popular. When it's packed, the service isn't quite what you might expect given the prices. Aside from that, I really enjoy this place. Their pizzas are comparable to those from a good NYC pizzeria. I also recommend trying the truffle pasta; the first bite was incredible! However, during my later visits, it started to feel a bit too rich, so I decided to stick with the pizzas. View menu

Great fresh dishes. I ate the lasagna as quick as a golden retriever, it was so good. My wife had the bianca pizza with carmelized onions, mushrooms, and sliced zuchini and it was great. Tiaramisu and regular cheesecake rounded out the meal. The 'misu was better than I had imagined and the cheesecake had that dense, baked quality to it, which makes it stand out from cheesecake anywhere else for me. A friend recommended this place much to our joy. This place has that quality to it that you can cover your eyes and put your finger on the menu and whatever you get will be great.

There are only wonderful things to say about this small gem! The only downfall about this place is it is not big enough and you might have a bit of a wait if you don't want to sit outside. Our server was very kind and made suggestions for us! We started with drinks and focaccia bread! (Tip: Be sure to get oil and vinegar to dip it in! they make their pasta and it's very fresh and amazing! We got the Tagliatelle pasta which was a Cacciao y Pepe and the Marghwrita pizza! Everything was divine and perfect! There was no room for dessert otherwise we would have split it! We thought this place was a huge success and will come back when we are back in the state! One of my friends ordered the lasagna, which featured thin, house-made noodles filled with meat and cheese, and it was beautifully presented. The portion was quite generous as well. The birthday girl opted for one of the daily specials, pumpkin ravioli with brown butter and sage, and it was artistically arranged on her plate. Based on the empty plate, it was a hit! As a fan of paninis, I chose the veggie pesto panini, made with house-made bread and served with a small salad. It was delicious, and I would definitely order it again. I'm not sure what has happened to this place over the past year and a half, but I feel compelled to share my experience. Unfortunately, I got sick after eating a Chicken Panini due to what seemed like a lack of proper food preparation and cleanliness in the kitchen. It appears the kitchen and the overall space are in dire need of a thorough cleaning. They seem to be starting to clean their doors again due to COVID-19, which is a positive step, but there's also a sense of performative wokeness, at least based on their social media presence. Visited Made in Italy on a Wednesday night and it was not too busy. Service: not the best but also not the worst. The host seated us quickly (lack of greeting) and the waiter took around 10 minutes to visit our table. It was pretty busy inside so we let that slide. Once it died down, our waiter checked in on us a couple of times. Setting: the restaurant is pretty open and has a casual concept feel. It pains me to give less than 5 stars to this restaurant because Antonio and his wife have created a wonderful neighborhood spot with fantastic food. However, I had a disappointing experience with their staff during a takeout order tonight. When I arrived to pick up my pizza and salad, the host was not at the front, so I went inside and noticed my food on the to-go table. I asked a waiter to confirm that it was mine since the salad had my name on it, but the pizza did not. He told me I needed to go back outside to check with the host.
