"Absolutely amazing—I was tempted to lick the tray clean, and I was wearing a tie! Step aside taco joints, because there's a new taco queen in my heart: Maria's Taco Xpress!! I’m truly blown away. I tried a variety plate to find out which taco was the best, and they were all delicious! Even the chicken taco was bursting with flavor—something I rarely find at other places where the chicken tends to be dry and bland. Maria has truly mastered it! I’ll definitely be coming back here whenever I'm in town. It’s worth the drive, no second thoughts about it!"

OMG, this is the best taco place I found while I was in Texas! I had already finished a full breakfast before I discovered this spot, but I couldn't resist trying their pastor taco.

Incredible tacos, great salsa, amazing micheladas all for a very good price. Also, the live music on Sundays is always so good, I've now made it a weekly ritual and joined the Church of Maria!

This was the first restaurant we visited upon our arrival in Austin, thanks to a friend's recommendation, and it was a fantastic introduction to Texas! We placed our order and couldn't wait to dig in.

I have been going to Taco Xpress since she was in the tiny space next door. Her food is filled with love and I can taste it. The vibe is very special. The music nourishes me, too! Don't miss the Taco Xpress experience. View menu

The remnants of Maria's consist of this food truck and a few picnic tables. The menu is well-maintained, and the food is still just as great as before. There is no alcohol served. I'm not sure how long they will continue operating like this.

I absolutely adore the food, the ambiance, the music, the location, the diverse artwork, and Maria! It's a true South Austin gem! Bill Murray once told me he loved me there, and my grandson’s tortilla face on the piano is the perfect finishing touch to the miga taco! – Nora

Some of the best people I know come together every Sunday for the renowned 'Hippie Church ', where you 'll hear some great music, dancing and love. The food is also excellent! Maria had revised the menu with some new recipes and it 's the bomb! We almost lost this rare GEM, but she 's here to stay! LUV LUV LUV Maria! View menu

Marias is a must when I visit Austin! I went there during my first ACL Festival...and my 2nd. The atmosphere is unique and the food is always fresh and consistently good. The Migas tacos with a cold beer will put you in the right mood everytime! And don't forget to take home a jar of Chimichurri sauce. Thank you Maria and Staff for all the love

I have been visiting Maria's and savoring her tacos since they were first served from one of Austin's original food trucks outside her neighborhood store. This spot is more than just a restaurant; it embodies the heart and soul of South Austin culture and has served as a vital gathering place for locals for twenty years. It's my favorite place for food, meetings, and music in all of Austin. Long live Maria's!

"I literally just made a review but I’m going to make another one because for whatever reason someone or somehow it got deleted. I used to be a regular at Bouldin and the service was always amazing but my last two visits have been by far horrible. The service has been so poor that I felt disgusted when leaving the restaurant. There are two girls that work there with light brown hair and blue eyes. Pretty sure one of their names is Rego. My boyfriend and I were served by her before and she seemed nothing but annoyed and couldn’t care less if we were in her section. Barley even interacted with us or asked how our meal was and just seemed disgusted by us, just being rude passive aggressive for no reason at all. I’m a server and I KNOW this isn’t how you treat your guests and the same thing happened tonight. She just seemed like she couldn’t care less if we were there and just seemed annoyed? I don’t mind paying the gratuity if I’m being treated decently but that wasn’t the case and I feel as though they feel like they think they can get away with behaving like mean girls just because there’s a gratuity. I have friends that dine here as well and they have had the same experience. I’m not one to write reviews but I feel this needs to come across a managers attention so they know who they are hiring and how they are treating customers. Really disgusted and disappointing and if this gets deleted again I’ll write another review or just call the store to speak to a manager. Disgusted by their behavior."
