"Silas restaurant in Hotel Versailles completely exceeded my expectations. My daughter has an allium intolerance which makes eating out almost impossible but she contacted them about menu possibilities. We were able to celebrate her 30th birthday with an amazing meal. Our server, Angie, was so kind and took the time to check on other options. The chefs did all they could to provide her with a great meal. She is usually disappointed by the lack of care from other restaurants but not Silas. I haven't seen her so happy at a restaurant since her intolerance was diagnosed. The roasted Brussel sprouts were delicious and different, my side salad had chunks of pumpkin in it and I was so surprised I liked that since I'm not a pumpkin fan. The desserts were amazing too. I'm not a fan of carrot cake which my daughter got but I snuck a bite and couldn't believe how light and fluffy and perfect it was! Sourcing local ingredients is a plus and the ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful. I'd give them ten stars if I could. This place has heart."

The staff, facilities, comfort and food at the new Hotel Versailles are absolutely first class! Best dining and hotel in the area for business or pleasure!

This is a new restaurant called Silas. I never thought fine dining would come to this part of Ohio, until I ate here. I had the Monte Cristo sandwich, which came with a homemade raspberry sauce. Two thumbs way up.

Very poorly run motel, have tried to go there twice, both times closed for a private event, called booking number they know nothing about it, do they think Versailles is some major city, the old Motel and Restaurant never closed for a private event that I am aware of. View menu

I have eaten at incredible restaurants around the world and in many major cities in the U.S. Michael Anthony's is World Class in both food and service. It never ceases to amaze me that you can find places like this in small rural cities. I had Filet alla Michael Anthonys, my wife had Ribeye. We both had drinks and desserts and everything was perfect. Not only was the meal excellent, but the Inn itself and the ambiance add a very nice touch to any meal or event. It's about a 45 minute drive from North of Dayton, but well worth the time investment!

My new favorite restaurant ! (sorry Hyde Park Upper Arlington LOVE that it is fresh, farm to table. (They have their own farm! Super creative menu that changes as food comes in and out of season. LOVE that much is locally sourced. We shared the charcuterie tray and it was excellent! Especially liked the jalapeño jelly. The salad was fresh from the farm but it was the delightful lemony dressing that made the salad. Scallops and Salmon were cooked perfectly. Both dishes surrounded by a delicious and eclectic combination of vegetables, potatoes and other goodies! Must go! View menu

Hotel was beautiful. We really enjoyed the local selection of treats in the room. Big city feel in a small town. We had a few drinks at the bar and the staff was great. You need to try a gimlet, Just delicious. Now on to the issues with our stay. We stayed here for a wedding in town because I had asked about a shuttle. Manager said that they did indeed have a shuttle when I made the reservation. When we got there I asked the gentleman at the front desk about the shuttle service. I may as well have asked about the space program. They did not have a shuttle and he seemed put out that I would even ask. At the bar..... you are in full view of customers. Maybe don't use the towel that you polish...

Regrettably, we were under awed. The great pictures from other reviewers and their great comments seem to be justified for the dinner menu or special occasions, perhaps. The lunch menu at Silas offered a smaller and simpler selection, more in line with expediting table turnover than a dining experience. Tasty? Certainly, and the local sourcing makes more sense at their location, 30 40 minutes beyond northern Dayton. From Kettering Beavercreek, perhaps an equivalent ride to the Cincinnatti market. Tempura fried wild mushrooms: served in a bowl, on a platter just large enough for the bowl. The large pieces, however, required cutting no plate was provided for that obvious purpose. It was enjoya...

"My family of 9 adults and 2 children had reservations for Mother 's Day. Using Open Table for reservations left us not knowing there was a limited menu. (And I do mean limited!! A family member did see on Facebook a couple of days prior what the menu would be. At this point, we decided it would be too late to go elsewhere so we kept our reservations. We were greeted by 2 very friendly young ladies. Our table was ready when we arrived and we had a room to ourselves which was nice. The very unhappy waitress came to get drink orders and we asked a few questions about the menu. After getting our drinks, she returned to take our food order. During this time she managed to let us know that she had worked 13 hours the previous day and did not want to be there. Not what you want to hear from your server. Drink refills were very slow. Appetizers were just so so and the fact they were room temperature did not help the taste. When the entrees started coming out, they came in shifts. Some people had completely finished eating before others got their entrée. Now for the entrees......NO SIDE ITEMS????? Really????? The waffles looked and tasted as if they had been prepared the day before and reheated in the microwave. Some plates were accompanied by 2 scrawny pieces of chicken and some had 4 pieces. The small piece of cod was completely hidden by the so called mango salsa . The only entrée that was half way ok was the quiche which was more like a casserole. At this point, we were no way going to even try a dessert. We had high hopes that The Paddock would be close to Addie 's but were extremely disappointed. I heard the same review from a coworker regarding a family member of hers that was there also. Unfortunately, it was bad enough that I wouldn 't give it a second try nor would I recommend it to friends. On a positive not, we did have some great laughs at how ridiculous our experience was as well as getting some great pictures on the porch."
