"I had the catfish Po'boy and crawfish. The crawfish was fresh and pretty big for early December. Very tasty. I could say the portions were big that's not a complaint. I can always take it home. The Catfish Po'boy was great I tried a few of their sauces with it, including the tartar sauce. I definitely will have that again. The Carmel chocolate beignets were a little too sweet for my wife but I did like them. I definitely recommend just the powder sugar beignets if you don't like rich sweets. I hate that didn't get our server's name she was great . She was very attentive and had good recommendations for our first time. I am not familiar with the Mardi Gras atmosphere but I definitely was comfortable and did like that they had live music . Overall it was a good for a regular date night. I believe I got to speak with the owner. It seems the staff and ownership is well invested into their business. We will go back."

Outstanding Cajun food. Very friendly staff, the owner/main chef came out to greet customers and talk about the restaurant. Highly recommended! View menu

Mrs Lively's is amazing. We were the only people in the restaurant, but that was fine with us (we were early). The blackened catfish and green beans are my favorite.

This is an amazing restaurant ! Not only is the food amazing, but the wait staff is attentive, and management is sensitive and a dominating to food allergies. I have a gluten allergy and the manager and kitchen staff were happy to start a fresh pot of oil for frying my gosh to ensure no cross co tail I still occurred.

This is a local small business, so I encourage everyone to support it. However, my review is honest. The gumbo is quite good and seems to be made fresh daily. I also ordered the crab cake as an appetizer, which was tasty, though it had a lot of filling and not enough crab. The ambiance is very Mardi Gras-themed, which I personally love, as it reflects Cajun culture. Unfortunately, for my main course, I ordered the fried catfish and shrimp. The shrimp tasted like the kind you buy frozen from the store and bake in the oven. The fish was fried, but it wasn't catfish; it was Swai fish. I'm giving three stars mainly for the appetizers and the excellent service. View menu

Hands down the best AUTHENTIC Cajun food I've had since I left Louisiana. The crawfish étouffée had the *chef's kiss* best roux and flavor and served over dirty rice! They know what they're doing! We were greeted by the owner who made us laugh the second we walked in the door. This place feels exactly like the floating Cajun restaurants I used to eat at In Louisiana. I started chatting with the owner about living in Louisiana, the things I missed, and within two minutes, his personality made me feel like I was a kid again! Love the people, love love love the étouffée. I'm going back fo' sho'. The fried green tomatoes were also spot on! I am so glad they moved back to their old location by th...

I ordered the Cajun shrimp boil, and it was quite disappointing. The shrimp lacked any seasoning and were bland. The sausage tasted like it had come from a convenience store's hot dog roller. The corn tasted canned and was smothered in Tony Chachere's seasoning. My daughter's medium burger was so rare that it seemed almost uncooked. My wife's shrimp and grits had decent shrimp, but the grits were extremely dry. The staff offered a lot of excuses and gave us some complimentary beignets. I suppose if you're looking for fried items, you might be fine since they were likely frozen and difficult to mess up. However, if you're in search of authentic Cajun cuisine, I suggest you keep driving—it’s...

"Avoid this place. I 've been here twice. First time was several years ago when they were relatively new. This time was within the last week. Arrived for a late breakfast, and they were understandbly busy. Put my name on the list and proceeded to wait. I noticed a lot of people waiting for food but chalked it up to a rush. After watching the hostess write down names as people walked in (without asking for names), I realized she wasn 't even paying attention to the list to call names from. Had to almost yell at her to get her to see our name at the top. Seemed she was calling 'regulars ' instead of starting at the top. Finally got seated and she apologized for not being able to read and we eventually ordered after a few minutes. We then sat for 30 minutes and watched everyone seated after us get their food. No one attempted to tell us if/why there was a delay. After we decided to get up and leave, the waitress tried to tell us it 'll just be another minute. At this point I 'd been in this place for an hour and didn 't get one iota of decent service. If you 're a regular, they seem to take care of you, but as a new customer I was left sitting there with nothing. I don 't know exactly what went wrong to have no food when everyone else was getting food, but a little bit communication could have gone a long way to making me feel better. Instead, I felt neglected and won 't be back."
