"most bakeries have 0-1 vegan items, so why bother? this is different. rise has approx. 4-6 vegan items. that's not stellar, but it's nice. their attention to food restrictions means that they know that these vegan causes are vegan. it's beautiful. they mark objects as soya free, nut-free, egg-free and milk-free with a color-coded system. the selection ranges from muffins and fast broths to bars and cupcakes. the baked goods are not bad, and they don't taste terrible. they do not taste phenomenal. However, they will not leave when they go with their friends and are gluten-free. it is a beautiful place to support so go on and buy vegan (gluten-free! at this 100% gluten-free bakery. the more people who demand vegans. the more vegan choice it will be!"

To be fair, this isn’t a vegan bakery—let’s get that straight. However, they did offer a few options, so I opted for the vegan carrot cake cupcake. The icing was quite delicious, but the cupcake itself was a bit disappointing. It was very dense, almost like eating a muffin. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return.

Here are some of the vegan options we found on the day of our visit: a vanilla cupcake topped with crumble cookies and cream, a double chocolate cupcake, and a vegan apple turnover. There were other vegan dishes available as well, but those were from the bakery. The vanilla cupcake was absolutely delicious, and I'm so glad we decided to stop by!

This bakery is absolutely amazing and completely gluten-free! My favorites were the croissants and everything bagels. I was shocked by how delicious the gluten-free croissant tasted—it felt too good to be true! It's fantastic to find such high-quality gluten-free offerings. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating; they are more than willing to help you customize your order if you have any other dietary requirements. I also took home some additional treats and highly recommend trying the vegan carrot cupcake and nutty energy bar!

Wow, their croissants are incredible! Everything is fantastic! I traveled over an hour and a half to DC and was hoping to find somewhere to grab a bite since I usually end up eating a box lunch or chips while everyone else enjoys local dining. I did a quick search, and Rise popped up with such fantastic reviews that I thought, why not give it a shot? I'm so glad I did—I hadn't had a croissant or eclairs in over ten years. Plus, the shop is so charming and cozy, and the staff were all so friendly. This could become my monthly reason to visit DC!
