"I absolutely loved dining here! The place has a wonderfully old-fashioned, classic, and homey atmosphere. My niece and I arrived at a busy time—noon!—but we were lucky to grab seats at the counter right in front of the commercial stove and cook. I appreciated that they use fresh ingredients: the burgers are fresh, never frozen, hand-formed; the French fries are freshly cut; they serve fresh eggs; and the cakes are homemade! We were so full after our meal that we could only take a few slices of cake home with us. I had a meat plate with brown gravy and potatoes that were definitely not from a box; you could really tell they were made from scratch. My niece ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and biscuits with gravy, and everything was delicious. I regretted not trying one of their burgers while I was there; unfortunately, I ran out of time since I was visiting from Texas. The only thing I would have changed about the burger (which I observed from my seat) is that I would have asked for my rolls to be toasted. Overall, I would definitely go back! Now, I have to wait until next year for my next visit to my brother, but I’m sure I’ll be heading back there. Oh! I almost forgot—my niece and I both loved the atmosphere, the food, and the staff. Everyone was very friendly and attentive!"

The pie as well as the service was absolutely wonderful. Well worth the 3&1/2 hour drive.

I have this huge plate of food for under $10. Coffee comes free with the meal. Love this tiny, old-fashioned diner! Great value for your money.

1st time here....great service, portions were more than I expected and fish was delicious. Staff was genuinely friendly and prompt. Brought out the ol' skool for a nice evening cruise with my lady!

The food here was fantastic. This place rules. The size of the biscuits used for biscuits and gravy are, believe it or not, way larger than whats offered in either the South or Appalachia. Service was top notch, thank you Tiffany!!! Will pay a visit again when we come back to Toledo. View menu

I absolutely love this place! The food is amazing, the service is excellent, and the staff are wonderful. It truly transports you back to the days when diners were all the rage. It’s so nostalgic, even for someone like me who wasn't around during that era. This place definitely reflects that timeless vibe. You have to check it out!

Atmosphere , wait staff makes you feel very comfortable like a old style diner but with modern conveniences . Prices are extremely reasonable for the value you receive. Pie selection is out of this world. I would recommend Schmuckers hands down if you are looking for a great meal and a very reasonable old fashioned diner experience .

I passed by this restaurant and decided to stop in with my friend. At first, I had some doubts about how the food would be. However, once I walked in and saw everyone enjoying their meals, I realized it could be a great spot for dining. I must say, I really appreciated the vintage decor; it was all done very well. The food was fantastic and reminded me of a home-cooked dinner. It’s a lovely place and definitely worth a visit! View menu

In my mind when you look up the definition of diner in the dictionary there should just be a picture of Schmuckers. The atmosphere of the diner it's just perfect, there is a hum about the place from the kitchen to the servers dancing about the tightly packed tables. It's loud but not in an obnoxious way. They have a big menu serving both breakfast lunch and dinner items and there has yet to be something we have tried that wasn't delicious. The prices are low for the quality . My wife and I eat at Schmuckers any chance we get

For me, 1st 5 star in sometime. Took a road trip to Toledo to meet a friend for lunch. Discovered this place and heard they were famous for pie which we both love. Went there and it was standing room only, no tables available. It was that way The whole time we were there. We chose to sit at the counter. The menu was full of home cooking specials like turkey and dressing, roast beef sandwich or dinner, barbecue beef, fried fish sandwich or dinner, many versions of chicken, and even fried bologna sandwich. I hesitantly ordered the roast beef because I’ve been disappointed so many times… But not this time. It clearly was made with love, as if they’re cooking for their family. Literally the best...

"Date night Saturday night. Our reservation was for 7pm, but we were falling asleep, so luckily they were able to accommodate at 6:15. : Only a few tables were occupied. Tall ceilings, nice ambiance, would have maybe liked some additional lighting such as candle light (or faux candle light . The weather outside was lovely and they opened the doors which gave way to French doors with iron railing. they were pretty! Our server mentions that the menu changes pretty frequently so we may not see on the menu what we read online. Fine by me, as you know from my reviews, I 'm always up for a food adventure. I had a gin based cocktail which tasted balanced. Spring Mushroom Mousseline, Pistachio and Drunken Fruit with Date Pecan bread. Mousseline served in a glass votive like ramekin (much like you 'd see foie , was tasty, creamy, albeit a little gritty from the pistachios. The bread came like a small loaf, almost precut (could have been sliced all the way through , with macerated cherry/cranberry compote. For a vegetarian option like foie, we were pleased and ate the entire portion. Scotch Olives with Saffron Aioli. These olives were HOT. No joke. A bit of, could you please blow on this before I burn my tongue? But, they were briny on the inside, with a perfectly coated fried crunch outside, and so yum once the heat dissipated. Nice touch on the aioli. Only 4 of them unfortunately... that 's 2.25 each! Rosemary Grilled Lamb Chops with Seedy Broccolini Salad with Cherries. Wood grilled carrots and pomegranate molasses. $39. Nice presentation. Crunchy but soft carrots, broccolini cooked perfectly. Seemed a bit on the small side as far as meat goes. Two double lollipops. Cooked perfect, and beautiful gamey taste, just not too much bang for the buck. Grilled Sturgeon, warm rice salad, fiddlehead ferns, snap peas. Not a fan of the glaze ontop, the fish portion was fine, but lackluster. I 'm a huge sucker for fiddlehead ferns, and I also know that they can be overcooked within seconds, which these were just slightly overcooked, lacked the snap in your teeth you get from a bright green cooked correctly one. Oh well. With everything in one bite, it was good, just not amazing. We shared the Mexican hot chocolate warm brownie/cake in a cup. The foam was nice, but the inside really reminded me of a fudgy cake you can buy in the grocery store, add water, and nuke in the microwave. Next time, happy to go back just for drinks and apps. Skip the more expensive main courses on their menu."
