"We arrived 1 hour early and sat at the bar to enjoy a few cocktails. The cocktails well great. Everything started to go down hill from the moment we were seated. There was another couple joining us for dinner. We ordered another round of drinks. Those came but took some time. Eventually we were given an opportunity to order. We all ordered. I had the burger. The wife had halibut. My buddy had prime rib and his wife had the pork belly and scallops. Some time had passed before we got our meal. About 30 min. Meantime I had to buss the table myself to rid of the cocktails. A gentlemen which I forgot him noticed. He came and refilled our waters and asked if we needed anything. I replied we’re fine we are just waiting for our meal. the gentleman was from the bar area. Our meals eventually came BUT our friends meals did not come. So we were sitting and waiting and after 12 min my friend flagged the host walking by. Sh found our server and sent her over. She said she would check on the remaining food. She came back about a min later and said something happened and their order didn’t go through and they are making it now. Another 14 min the remaining food came and we began to eat. By that time our meals were cold. Which I can deal with no biggie. However my wife’s halibut seemed under cooked and really fishy. The beans that were served with it were almost inedible. Perhaps they were going for a Al dente style but missed the mark. My burger was fine the fries were the star of the show. My buddy liked his prime rib and his wife was OK with her dish. Her scallops were under cooked. After $98 bucks at the bar plus a few more cocktails at the table and dinner we were at about $405 ish into this. Night. We often go out and we were excited to try a this new place. Will we return?? Perhaps if someone reaches out to me to make this might we will. Food was incredibly overpriced. This is Redding, not the Bay area. Prices need to suit the economy of the town. Overall really enjoyed the live music (Supertonic Jazz) and the environment. Pretty good for a first time there. View menu

We made reservations on-line for Valentines day. The on-line reservation company over booked The Shack Social. They made every effort to make sure everyone was served in a timely fashion. The food was amazing and the cocktails were top notch. I'd highly recommend this dining experience.

Made reservations. When I got there, they were not open. There was a truck and a Harley Davidson in the parking lot but they would not answer the door. I called and their message machine came on saying they were open from 3 to 9. My reservation was at 4. Very Disappointed. I really wanted to try this place.

Perfect setting for our girls night out we had arranged for dinner and a few cocktails. The vibe was great they had live acoustic music in the bar very easy listening and good vibe/ atmosphere. Food was amazing we even got to meet the chef and the service was attentive and friendly very inviting. Came in to watch the live music and try their summer dinner menu. Our server, Gina was impeccable and paced our meal perfectly. The Vanilla Lychee Martini and the Cali Dreaming were both light, refreshing, and delicious, the Lakmann is a clarified whiskey sour and unreal. We had the Prime Rib, cooked perfectly, and the Short Rib pasta which again was out of this world. We want to get a Wagyu Tomahawk steak on our next trip, they let us know notice is needed for that, preferably 5 days as it is a special ordered and prepared over 24 hours. Can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu!

My husband and I were looking for a place to have dinner before a show in Redding, and it crossed our minds to try The Shack Social. We had been big fans of Clearie's but had not tried the new restaurant. We could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The environment had changed somewhat from the time it was Clearie's, but it still had an inviting, upscale feel.
