"I'm a former patron of El Almacen (closed) Rosarito Fish Shack and Shelter since the day that it was started Stopped going to all of them a while ago due to mediocre food, horrible service and cocktails that were watered down They also changed the staff very often due to payments problems as per former employees Decided to give a chance to Shelter today but the experience was horrible We ordered cocktails that were pure water and ingredients were missing Ordered ham and cheese empanada a salad and a corn in addition to main courses and they brought them all together Sent back my skirt steak and clearly requested to have a new one done when finished with my appetizer Requested one Ham and CH empanada and got two beef empanadas Sent them back Two soggy pizzas bland and my skirt steak was the same item brought first by mistake and it was just warm and rubbery Sent this back and requested to talk with the manager This place is a real mess Horrible food, watered down cocktails and no AC in the middle of summer Cheap owners that do not care about customers Will never return to this place"

The mussels were small but very tasty. Excellent aphrodisiac food. Highly recommend the Mercury Retrograde cocktail.

shelter has a great potential, the mood and aesthetic is great and brings it to a small city colorado lodge feeling. pizza was good! all food and alcohol prices felt a bit inflated, so the 4 stars.

so a cozy place! we had a wooden board to start and then we had the parrillada, both were delicious! her brot was very tasty, I suppose it is the same teig that they use for the pizza. the staff is so great and super friendly! View menu

Terrible fish, very long wait to place our order, and everything came at once. Also, had to flag down a server for each request, whether for water, to order, to get the check etc. sad because I really liked this place on previous occasions. Their chicken empanadas were still great though.

it is a nice and cozy place. perfect for termine and celebrate! when we went, there was a problem with the ac and it was super warm in so that the joy took a little away. everyone enjoyed the dishes and dessert. I was not too impressed by her pizzas. overall, great appetizers and service.

The worst restaurant experience in a long time. I am a sure the food was good, but I cannot be certain because I never got my order. After 45 minutes watching our waiter talk to his friends while several other tables had to walk up to him to get checks, we finally threw in the towel. Had to tell the hostess to cancel our order and bring our check for our drinks. At least they comped the drinks. So I would advise hesitancy to go here. Instead, do what we did. Walk to La Nonna where we were treated like royalty and had some damn good pizza.

Great ambiance, food and people! I was working when I stopped in, so I couldn't touch their drink menu, but they had a good offering with a nice drink specials list, foe those who are into cocktails. I ordered a pizza and mussels. They turned out not to have enough mussels to make an order but offered to put them in a seafood stew that was on their specials list for me, and I accepted. The stew was delicious. I got called back to work more quickly than I expected, so I asked for my entire order to be changed to To Go and they complied without hesitation. I really would have enjoyed staying and eating there. The large fire was going in the fireplace, the ambiance was of a comfortable, dark lo...

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
