"Went to Silks tonight for my fiance 's birthday. We were hoping to have a fun night of trivia, drinks and food with a group of 6 of us. We were unfortunately greeted very rudely by the bartender who said we wouldn 't be able to find seating upstairs and when I politely asked if I could check, he told me I was calling him a liar and continued to be arrogant. We talked to the trivia host explaining it was a birthday and we were running late due to a diabetic incident and we were offered a table with another team who generously made room with us. We even bought them a round of drinks to show our appreciation. Anything 's the bartender from downstairs sees us and comes up in a manner like he was trying to show dominance over the situation or trying to instigate an argument/fight. Basically, insinuating that we stole the table from the nice regulars and we should have just turned. He said other things making us all feel uncomfortable, unwelcomed. It even got to the point where we asked if he 'd like us to leave, and he just responded, doesn 't matter now . He was really slow with our service the rest of the night, didn 't make eye contact and wouldn 't ask if we needed anything else unless we flagged him down. This isn 't our first bad experience with the bartender either, just the first time he 's spoken so aggressively towards us. Normally, he just is really slow because he 's off in the corner talking to his friends. I will say that the food is really good and that 's why we kept coming back despite his behavior, but tonight might have been the last straw. All I wanted to do was give my fiance a great night out with his family for his birthday."

Cool atmosphere. Food was great and the waiter was working really hard. The drink was good( long Island ice tea) and just right. Would come back again and try something else. View menu

I ordered the vegetable Mac and cheese for the mushrooms, but there were no mushrooms in the dish. My partner also received ingredients he had requested to be left out. We would not order takeout from this restaurant again. Food rating: 1 out of 5.

The shrimp scampi was only butter sauce. Who doesn't know how to make a scampi sauce? For 17.00 it was not what i ordered. The cream of crab was delicious but way too many shells for 10.00. The Ceasar salad dressing was sour. The fries were great and chicken tenders were tasty. Good for bar food but you need to learn basic sauces and dressings at least.

If you rank this on the dive-ish side of bars, it’s 5 stars solid. The staff is great, even when it’s busy. Never overwhelmed. The beer is crispy cold, and after finally trying the food I was even more impressed. We had the chicken Caesar wrap and the BALT with some solid sweet potato and twisty fries. Would eat here again. A solid choice in a neighborhood bar. View menu

First visit. Definitely a cool dive bar location. Decided to have lunch with a friend and husband on a rainy Sunday. Walked right into the bar then made our way to the behind the bar room. Not many people, which was nice.Husband ordered Cream of Crab soup and a Caesar Salad. He said they were both above standard bar food. Cream of Crab could have been a little thicker but good! I ordered a chicken cheesesteak with the fixin's on top. Delicious but if I'm being picky... more cheese!Food was delicious. Bartender was very kind for having to work lunch/brunch on a rainy Sunday. Thank you for a positive first experience. When the opportunity arises, we plan to return.

"Highly recommend Sweet Peaz Southern Kitchen! The food is served fresh and hot. We were a party of eight and ordered Fried Whiting with Yams and Mac n Cheese, Chicken and Waffles, Fried Chicken Wings, Chicken Tenders, Fried Shrimp, French Fries, and Collard Greens. The Sweet Potato Waffles were absolutely delicious! The fried chicken, shrimp, and fish were cooked perfectly and tasted as good as they looked. The seasoning was just right—not too salty, allowing the flavors to shine. The yams and collards were a real treat for the taste buds. And the cornbread? Simply amazing. My only disappointment was that the first taste was free (haha). The Mac n Cheese was decent, but the Chicken Tenders didn’t quite live up to their name; however, they did remake them for us to take home. The space is small and simple, with old-school music that adds to the enjoyable dining experience. They limit dining to one hour to ensure everyone can enjoy the food, which I appreciate—I dislike when people linger for too long when others are waiting. The staff were friendly, making us feel valued and appreciated. Prices are reasonable. One downside was that many items were unavailable, including grits—which was a big letdown since I was looking forward to the famous Shrimp and Grits—as well as butter, potato salad, seafood salad, and tartar sauce. I recommend calling ahead if you’re craving a specific dish. Despite this, it was a great dining choice and lived up to the positive reviews. Overall, we left satisfied and would gladly return. Parking is street parking only, as there’s no dedicated lot."
